WTF Tuesday

A bowl of Cherries for breakfast.

Smokey Maple Tempeh Bacon Sandwich with Pasta Salad from the Common Market.
Gardein BBQ Riblets with Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Zucchini for dinner. Still not madly in love with the Riblets (although I could see myself falling), just appreciate that they can be made on the stove top and they're still on sale for $2.69/package.
Three Sweet and Natural Apricot Thumbprints for dessert.
Coming up tomorrow: More WFH Grub.

Monday, July 30th

We only had two small Bananas left this morning, so Mr. SV suggested I bring both for breakfast and do a double penetration shot. He's an idea man.
WF's had the Ratatouille and Roasted Potatoes again today, so I got a pound and a half.
Eggless Egg Salad on WF's Rosemary Sourdough Bread for dinner.
The other half a slice of Sweet and Natural Vanilla Creme Cake for dessert.
Below is Donovan playing his new game where every time I open the barn door he rushes out and stands around till I pick him up and put him back in the barn. It's a bit of a work out since he's a big boy.
Coming up tomorrow: Working from home grub.

Sunday, July 29th

Tofu Scrambler and Roasted Potatoes $11 at Cafe Nola for breakfast...
Ever since the 'Soup Nazi' episode on Seinfeld, I've been wanting to try Mulligatawny Soup. Today, I bought a pint off the soup bar at Common Market.

This was sort of like a very thin Lentil Soup, I have nothing to compare it to, but it was very mysterious and intriguing.
Mr. SV's Pasta Salad for dinner. No oven turned on today.
Half a Date Crumb Square for dessert.
Could have been sweeter.
A little barn cleaning created some spots of wet chicken poop in the yard. These damp spots always attract butterflies. Below is a Yellow Swallowtail...
and a Black Swallowtail...No macro lens here.
Coming up tomorrow: Hoping to get more Ratatouille from Whole Foods.

Saturday, July 28th

A Grilled Vegetable Platter $15 at One Block West for lunch. There was Patty Pan Squash, very Licoricey Fennel, Red Pepper, Red Onion with Baba Ghanoush on top to tie it all together. Best Grilled Vegetable Platter I've ever had. I've really been lucking out on the grub lately.
Mr. SV had his usual 'Ed's Pasta' with Artichokes, Capers, Basil and Tomatoes.
Dinner was some Wildwood Burgers, as recommended by Jenny (who coincidentally updated her blog today!), with some Oven Fries.
A half a slice of Sweet and Natural Vanilla Creme Cake for dessert.
Miss Rachel requested 'Animoe' pics to spice things up around here. So this afternoon I went into the back yard and tried offering up some leftover Fries from Windy City Red Hots to the Chickens. Wouldn't you know, my camera battery died before I could get any good pics.
I'll try again tomorrow.

Friday, July 27th

Field Roast Frankfurters with WF's Red Beans and Rice for lunch (I took a half day today, so lunch was at home).
Leftover Aloo Gobi fom Bombay Bistro with WF's Sesame Kale for dinner.
Hummus and Crackers for dessert.
I know, really dull posting lately. Maybe something interesting will happen tomorrow.

Thursday, July 26th

WF's had Ratatouille and Roasted Potatoes on their hot bar today. I always thought I hated Ratatouille based on what my mother had made when I was a child, but this WF's batch is pretty damned great.
Due to the intense heat, Mr. SV requested we not turn on the oven tonight. Dinner was carryout from Bombay Bistro -- a massive Samosa and some Aloo Gobi.
TJ's Strawberry Coconut Milk Ice Cream for dessert.
Coming up tomorrow: More about what I eat.

WTF Wednesday

A Mon Cuisine Vegan Pot Pie for lunch. I've been eyeballing these 'Mon Cuisine' entrees for years. They can be found in the Kosher frozen food section along with a lot of other interesting vegan grub. Today I finally tried one and was pleasantly surprised.  The crust was flaky and the filling was full of Veggies and Faux Chicken.
WFs General Tso's Chicken, Broccoli and very old Mashed Potatoes for dinner.
White Chocolate Peanut Butter for dessert. It actually tastes like White Chocolate Peanut Butter! How did they do it?
Hard to believe it will be 100 degrees outside tomorrow with all this stick-to-my-butt cuisine.

WTF Tuesday

Cascadian Farm Cinnamon Crunch Cereal with Almond Milk for breakfast.
Field Roast Frankfurters with TJ's Frankfurters.
Field Roast Meatloaf with Heinz-57 and  Corn on the Cob for dinner.
A Coconut Milk Banana Split Mini for dessert. There are only 100 calories in these little ice cream sandwiches. I burned off at least that much typing up this post!
Coming up tomorrow: More WFH Grub.

Monday, July 23rd

A minimal post to counter-balance yesterday's extravaganza. The usual PB & Banana for breakfast. An exact pound $7.99 of Ratatouille and Rosemary Potatoes from WF's for lunch. There was Eggplant in it, but it was still surprisingly really delicious.
Sukhi's Spinach and Tofu Naanwich with Mr. SV's Artichoke and Caper Pasta Salad for dinner. This 'Grab & Go' Sandwich $3.99 was unusually good, like a quiche. I would buy it again.
I am grateful that all meals turned out to be tasty today, but too full of carbs for dessert. Coming up tomorrow: WFH grub.

Sunday, July 22nd

After sleeping in late, lunch was at Black Bear Bistro, where Mr. SV & I started off by splitting the huge crunchy Vegan Salad $8...
and a bowl of the very flavorful Lentil Soup $6.50...
My Sloppy Joe $7.95...Good, but I have to say I prefer  Fantastic Foods Sloppy Joe Mix better.
I enjoyed some Sparkling Lemonade later. Not as healthy as Kombucha, but $3 less per bottle.
After all that vegan goodness, dinner was a simple Hummus Sandwich.
A Sjaak's Chocolate Caramel Bar for dessert.
The Barn Cats this afternoon...Buttercup enjoying the weather...
Mystique withholding her feline treasures...
Marmulade Umlaut with son, Jasper, lolling on her tail...
Donovan (still the favorite) clinging to some carpet remnants..
Donovan loving on Mom...
Jasper and Buttercup. Look-a-likes, yet not close relatives...
Mystique giving me one last in focus pic...
Wascally Wabbit says, "Just keep those cats in the barn!"
Phew! Mega-post out.
