A Day Of Favorites

Lunch was MaPo Tofu and Spring Rolls from PF Changs.
After seeing Kimberly's and Jessica's sandwiches today, I knew what I was having for dinner tonight...Yves Bologna and Vegenaisse on a WF's Pretzel Roll.
Dessert was what I really wanted last night but gave up in the interest of the blog -- a Blessed Mama Chocolate Chip Pecan Bar. Mr. SV discovered them today, so they won't be around long.
Lots of Frontera Malbec...

A Mostly Delicious Day

Lunch was the Veggie Burger with Guac, Pickles, Onions etc from Cheeburger Cheeburger. This was delicious.
Dinner was Two Boca Chick'nPatties (these were delicious) with a Side Salad (not so much delicious).
I really wanted something else for dessert, but for the sake of the blog, I ate TJ's Chocolate Cherry Soy Cream. (Always 100% delicious).
Lots of Frontera Malbec.

Two Delicious Days In A Row

Lunch was again at Mom's Place in Purcellville. This was a bowl of Stella's (Mom's) Lentil Soup which was thick like Chili so it could be eaten with the homemade Bread instead of a spoon. Again -- best ever Lentil Soup.
This is my $3.50 Garden Salad with Vinaigrette and a drizzle of Balsamic Reduction. I really didn't need it after all the Soup and Bread, but I ate it all anyway.
Dinner was Seitan with Mushroom Marsala on Roasted Potatoes...
Dessert was a Blessed Mama Chocolate Chip Pecan Bar. Having these in the fridge is like money in the bank. Why bother with any other sweet?
Lots of Frontera Malbec.

A Delicious Day

Lunch was at Mom's Place in Purcellville. I asked if they could do a Roasted Vegetable Sandwich and they totally delivered. Best Roasted Vegetable Sandwich I ever had in my life. I'd say it was the best Sandwich period, but WF's Seitan Panini still sets the standard.
Dinner was Aloo Gobi. Didn't taste too authentic, but it was light and appropriate after a heavy lunch.

Dessert was a Blessed Mama Chocolate Chip Pecan Bar. These are the bomb.
Lots of Lost Vineyards Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon...

Another Dull Post

Some may wonder why I post when what I'm showing is pretty damn dull. I will answer: I don't know. Lunch was the Veggie Chili and a Salad w/Goddess Dressing from Harris Teeter...
Dinner was Gardenburgers and Tater Tots. These burgers were pretty disappointing. I wouldn't buy them again.
Dessert was TJ's Soy Creamy Chocolate Cherry Ice Cream with a piece of Blessed Mama Chocolate Chip Pecan Bar.
Lots of Lost Vineyards Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon...

Typical Vegan Eats

Nothing too earth shaking today. Lunch was a Salad from Whole Food's....
Dinner was Tofu Scramble with Yves Breakfast Patties and a Hash Brown....
Dessert was a Blessed Mama Chocolate Chip Pecan Bar. One good thing about making a Blessed Mama dessert: if you don't like it, she'll replace it free of charge! Go for it!

WFH Wednesday

Lunch was a half of a WF's Seitan Panini....
Then I went outside to photograph some of our chickens eating the Veganomicon's Broccoli-Polenta dish...
Unlike myself, they really enjoyed it!
These are our Guineas. The one on the left is looking at you!
Dinner was Chickpea Cutlets with Mustard Sauce (Vegenaisse & Dijon 50/50 stirred up w/Capers), Roasted Cauliflower and Zucchini Pancakes.
Dessert was a Blessed Mama Chocolate Chip Pecan Bar. Tastes like a Twix Bar but better! By tomorrow it should probably have chilled enough to cut a nice straight edged piece.

I Made Good Food Choices Today

Or I chose good food? Lunch was a pound of Steamed Vegetables off the Wegman's hot bar...
Dinner was Chili and Zoa's Cornmeal Dumplings. (Yes, I found Urad Flour!). These were my first ever Dumplings, and they were very tasty. Mr. SV gobbled up all the extras and he knows Dumplings.
Dessert was a Boom Choco Boom Bar. I accidentally bought the regular instead of the crispy kind, but it was really good.
Lots of Lost Vineyards Tempranillo...

An Okay Food Day

Lunch was the Lotus Burger and Fries from Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant. Next time I'll tell them to leave that 'white stuff' off.
Dinner was Celebration Field Roast with Heinz-57 and Veganomicon's Broccoli Polenta. Vegan Tickles wrote about the polenta a few weeks ago and peaked my interest. Unfortunately, I did not care for the dish at all. Fortunately, it only cost pennies to make and the rest can easily be fed to my feathered friends to no ill effect.
Dessert was two more of the burnt Muffins. Just about six or so more to go...

I Was A PITA Vegan Today

Lunch was at Mom's Place in Purcellville. There was nothing on the menu that I could eat, besides the Side Salad, but the owner, Stella, assured me that they could put together a vegan meal with no problem. The chef was formerly of the Willard, so I was eager to taste whatever I could of his cuisine. Below is the $3.50 Side Salad w/a Balsamic reduction as well as Vinaigrette and all the Onions off Mr. SV's Salad..
The homemade bread is usually served with Garlic Butter, but they made a batch for me without. Warm and soft, I thoroughly enjoyed dipping it in the Olive Oil that came with my Salad.
When Stella asked me what I ate, all I could think of was Veggie Burgers. Trying to be as low-maintenance as possible, I suggested Vegetables on Pasta as a typical vegan meal.
In summation, we'll be going back again next week, and not just because Stella will be making a vegan Lentil Soup.
I was so super stuffed after lunch -- a ton of tiny Tomatoes, Diced Squash, Mushrooms and other fresh roasted goodness was hiding under all that Angel Hair Pasta -- all I had for dinner was Zucchini Pancakes...

Seitan Two Ways -- Panini & Picatta

Lunch was half of a WF's Seitan Panini...
Morgan happened to make it yesterday, but I've been planning to make Seitan Piccata since Stacy made it several weeks ago. Seriously! It takes me a while to get these specialty meals together. I used this Candle 79 recipe and it was phenomenal if I do say so myself. This was my first time having it, so I must say: The inventor of Piccata is a genius!
Dessert was a TJ's Valencia PB Sandwich (our grand tour of European cuisine sadly ended).
Lots of Lost Vineyards Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon..

Salad, Pasta & Muffins

Lunch was the Roasted Vegetable Salad (Grilled Asparagus, Zucchini, Green Onions and Roasted Corn, served warm over a bed of chilled Romaine Lettuce, Fresh Avocado and Sun-Dried Tomatoes with Fat-Free Balsamic Vinaigrette on the side) from California Pizza Kitchen.Dinner was Penne Pasta with Arrabiata Sauce, Spinach and TJ's Meatless Meatballs.
Dessert was a couple Blueberry Muffins that I made a few weeks ago. They have gotten better with age.
Plus a bottle of Lost Vineyards Tempranillo. I was planning to make a more interesting dinner, but hopefully that will happen tomorrow...

Not An Exciting Post

Lunch was half of a Seitan Panini that I brought from my home stash as well as some Tofu & Broccoli that I bought on impulse from Harris Teeter. Even though half a Panini was more than enough lunch, I cannot go to Harris Teeter without hitting up their Hot Asian Bar.
Dinner was Celebration Field Roast with Heinz-57 and Roasted Cauliflower (why I was at Harris Teeter -- Califlower = $2/each)
Dessert was a Coconut Mini.
Lots of Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot. All very boring, so no comments necessary.

WFH Wednesday

Lunch was more of the Fantastic Foods Sloppy Joes and a Potato Squasher...
Dinner was Boca Chik'n Patties (these are good even after being in the freezer for years) and a cute Side Salad just for Blessed Mama to have something pretty to rest her eyes on.
Dessert was the last of the Coconut Cookie Dough Ice Cream. It really works out well living with someone who hates Coconut.
Lots of Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot...

It's Finally No Longer Monday

At one point yesterday I just could not believe it was still Monday, it had to be Tuesday! But, no, Monday was still going on. That was a weird experience I never had before, hence the title of yesterday's post. Anyway, during yesterday, the Seitan Paninis suddenly reappeared at WF's. They had goat cheese on them for some reason. I asked if they could make one without the cheese, which they couldn't. I had to put in a 'catering order' in order to have some Paninis specially made without cheese. I picked them up today and they were much bigger than the regular ones found in the Sandwich case, not as great as those, but pretty good. So look forward to pieces of my Panini stash appearing in future installments.
It took over six hours to digest my lunch. In fact, it wasn't really digested when I decided that dinner was going to be Okara Burgers with Tater Tots.
No room for dessert tonight, just lots of Frontera Shiraz...

The Longest Monday

Lunch was the $7.49 Wrap & Soup Deal from Whole Foods -- Lentil Wrap and Adobo Black Bean Chili...
Dinner was Celebration Field Roast with Heinz-57 and Zucchini Pancakes (veganized recipe #16702 from Food.Com) with Sour Supreme.
I've made no secret of my love of Vegenaisse and faux meats. Dessert was a Bologna Sandwich with lots of Vegenaisse.
Lots of Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot...In the immortal words of Gary Dell'Abate, "It is what it is."
