Getting Touristy Things Done

Yesterday, I tasted 'The World's Best Banana Daiquiri' $10.95. Had they not touted it as such, I might not have recognized it as the world's best...
Today I swam in Magen's Bay where the water is so clear you dont need goggles or a mask to see the fish swimming around you in a foot of water...
later, I had a guy open a Coconut with a machete and I drank the juice with a plastic straw (but ate the jelly with a metal spoon). Ordering re-usable glass straws tomorrow cuz this just seems wrong...
ate dinner outside in an artist's colony type place called 'Tillet Gardens'. Besides the feral chickens walking all over, this little kitten was hanging around and let me hold and cuddle her. If i didnt already have seven (five of which currently hate me)...
Things are improving. Hopefully, new blog will be up and running tomorrow. Bye for now.

Working On Setting Up The New Blog

Sarah said to call it 'Vegan In The VI' so I set up that name on blogspot, but that's about it. Here is how we got the crew down to St. Thomas yesterday. A Sprinter took everyone to the Leesburg Airport. The driver was so impressed with his stacking skills, he took a photo as well...

there was all you can use tissue for the 20 minute ride to the airport (that is a tissue box under the little screen)...
We took a Citation Excel for the 3 1/2 hour flight..
The Pups were out of their crates for the duration, but behaved beautifully. Teddy was desperately wanting to get at the chickens in their crates at first...
but eventually calmed down to enjoy the view...
Molly was a dream...
and Poley crashed (no pun intended) in the aisle the whole way...
Everyone made it down alive and well, but the barn cats will probably never trust me again. The Chickens have been residing under the house...
the Japanese Bantam went instantly feral and it now uncatachable...
more Chicken pics...
a Bantam Cochin on the stairs...and done with Chicken pics...
one of the unexpected pleasant surprises was all the Hermit Crabs on the property (I just saw it for the first time yesterday). They are constantly rustling around. The one below was about as big as a 50 cent piece, but others are as big as Grapefruit...
another fortunate aspect of being here as that all the Flamboyant Trees are currently in bloom...
they are a vibrant red/orange color. I plan to try to grow some in my yard from dried seed pods...
I have eaten some great vegan grub as well, but am proud of myself for not posting on it here....
I will save it for my Vegan In The VI blog once I get that up and running. Bye for now....

What A Fuckin Nightmare Day

Some how I thought it would be a solution to everything to move to St. Thomas. So far, not so much. Anyway, have fun thinking of a new name for my blog for however long I last here...
St. Thomas Vegan? VI Vegan? Royally fucked up vegan? lemme know. Bye for now.

Zero More Days...

My last day of grub ever in Northern Virginia (hopefully). My TLT and Kale Salad were better than ever, but oddly the bittersweet part was knowing I will never see the super friendly servers again....
also shout out to the stellar folks at Loving Hut. Great people there as well as great food. Our only regret is that Sarah didnt clue us into the Wonton Soup years ago...
Mr. SVegetarian helped make sure I am not leaving any of my Cashew Milk Ice Cream behind...
So let us all hope and pray (not that I am religious) that tomorrow I post from my new locale (name of new blog still undetermined, but will be posted here). Bye for now.

One More Day....

Farewell to TJ's Cornflakes. Still got a few servings left. Dont see how the rest can make the move without getting pulverized...
Picked up lunch from Aiyara Thai. Went with Mr. SVegetarian's favorite, 'Tofu with Basil', aka, 'Kra Pow'. I wasnt thrilled with it, no clue why he always gets it...
also got an order of 'Tofu with Cashews' for dinner....far superior, IMO...
Problem is, now I am too full for dessert and I have almost a pint of Cashew Milk Ice Cream to down by Sunday morning. Definitely cant leave a drop of that behind. Bye for now.

My last NYC Bagel for breakfast. I forgot to add the Scallions till after assemblage, but still worked out..
Made it to Taste of Burma for carryout. The 'Tea Leaf Salad' for lunch...
the 'Tofu with Mustard Greens' for dinner...
the obvs for dessert...
cant think of any hints so bye for now.

Three More Days

Trader Joe's Cornflakes with Almond Milk for breakfast...I can still get Cornflakes where I am going, maybe not such a huge box of Organic Flakes for $2.49, but still Cornflakes...there is your hint, Ingrid....
the last time I will ever have Vegan Tiki Masala...
might be able to get Wonton Soup again for Saturday night....
Still loving the Cashew Milk Ice Cream. One more pint to go....
All different favorites tomorrow. Bye for now.

Four More Days

I aint wasting the Field Roast Breakfast Sausage I have left. Two more to go...
might have to waste some Trader Joe's Meatless Meatballs though. Still got more than a half a bag left...
the last time I will ever have PF Chang's MaPa Tofu...surreal...
Still trying to get enough Cashew Milk Salted Caramel Clusters to last a lifetime...
more repeats of favorites tomorrow. Bye for now.

Five More Days...

TJ's Cornflakes with Almond Milk for breakfast. They're better with Hemp Milk, but oh well...
TJ's Vegan Tiki Masala for lunch...
Loving Hut's Jalapeno Tofu for dinner....
Cashew Milk Ice Cream for dessert...I may have to consume a pint a night until I go....
There is no Traders Joes, Loving Hut or Cashew Milk Ice Cream where I am planning to go, that is why I gotta pile it in. Assuming all goes well, my new home is located east of the MissIssippi. Will I make it happen? Bye for now.

Six More Days....

I admit, it saddened me this morning to realize I only get to enjoy this deliciousness one more time in my life...
however, happily I carried out an extra order of Loving Hut's Wonton Soup for later in the week...
also from Loving Hut, a rich and creamy slice of Vegan Treat's Raspberry Cheesecake for dessert...
Great grub. If LPQ hadnt discontinued their Tofu Scramble, it might have actually been worthwhile for me to stay in the area. But they did discontinue it so I am outta here. Bye for now.

Seven More Days...

Phenomenal TLT and Kale Salad this morning...lots of Vegenaisse...
PF Chang's MaPo Tofu for dinner....
the last of the Mocha Almond Chip for dessert...
As longtime readers may have deduced, I am no fan of the D.C. Metro Area. After this coming Saturday, I am supposedly departing the area for good. So, yes, I have been plotting and planning for months behind y'all's backs, but, if all goes as planned, I will still be around (in new form). A new, far more exciting blog will take this blog's place. The upcoming week will be spent partaking of my most favorite local vegan items. I tried to partake over the past week, with the LEDO Pizza and whatnot, but obviously failed by Thursday. So, as the post title says, seven more days. Bye for now.

Friday, June 19th

It started out like another day of scrounging up food from around the house...
but then! Aiyara Thai to the rescue! My first Papaya Salad. Pretty, nutritious and light..tasty too, but it didnt jump out at me....
Cashew Tofu for dinner...this week taught me a valuable lesson and I will make sure to stock up properly for next week....
Mocha Almond Fudge for dessert...
TFK tomorrow. In desperate need of the Kale Salad. Bye for now.
