Sunday, April 20th

Brunch today at Mr. Noodle and Rice. I started with the 'Avocado Maki' $3.50 while Mr. SVegetarian enjoyed the 'Cucumber Maki' $3.50...
My 'Tofu BiBimBob' $9.25...
How exciting is this news? If all goes according to plan, little ole me is actually going to see Sean and Catherine in the flesh! Obviously, I will not do any heroin on that incredible day. 
TJ's Crispy Tenders, Roasted Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes with Road's End Shitake Gravy for dinner...
This afternoon I finally did something I've been meaning to do for literally years: I made a Dump Cake...
First you spread a can of Crushed Pineapple in a cake pan. Top it with Cherry Pie Filling...
cover with Cake Mix, 1/2 Cup diced EB and 1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans....
bake at 350 degrees for almost an hour. While some of the Cake Mix didn't get absorbed...
and the first piece out of the pan didn't cooperate, it tasted really good (how could it not?). I could see serving it to folks warm out of the oven for breakfast (if one is ever in that sort of position to serve folks breakfast)...

Although it was National Screaming Baby Day at Le Pain Quotidien, I still was able to relish every bite of my Tofu Scramble with Avocado....
LPQ's 'Organic Lentil & Avocado Salad' for dinner. Arugula, Frisée, Raw Vegetables, Flax Seed, Chickpeas and Basil Vinaigrette....
An LPQ Matcha Muffin for dessert...

Marmalade Umlaut this afternoon. As always, disgruntled with having her pic taken, but FF was concerned about her well-being, so here is proof she is alive and well...

Leftover BBQ Jackfruit Filling and Coleslaw from The Randy Radish for lunch....

An $8 Value Meal from Whole Foods for dinner...
General Tso's Chicken with Kale and Asian Noodles...
I only ate half, so it was an even bigger value meal...
Randy Radish Cowboy Cookie for dessert...
Now the really important stuff: I discovered the first Morel of the season this afternoon!!!!
Then I found another one within a few feet of the first! I knew yesterdays rains would bring them. Mr SVegetarian, seeing my find, sat on a chair on the driveway and stared at the lawn, but couldn't spot another...
so he punished me by eating all the leftover Spaghetti from last week. Look at them beauties. Bye for now.

Le Pain Quotidien this morning. Didn't realize I'd forgotten to ask for Avocado till I saw the bill and thought I was undercharged.  Below is how I use the bread to shovel in the Tofu Scramble...

Friday, April 11th

A .99 'Day Old' Blueberry Muffin from Root's Market for breakfast. Not many Blueberries, but I'm used to that. This time the overall Muffin was awesome enough to make up for the Blueberry shortfall...
After trying out Chop't and Sweetgreen recently, I thought I'd see how Freshii would stack up. The 'Superbiotic' $7.99 + .49 for the Tofu was my unit of measurement. Garbanzo Beans, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Corn, Artichoke Hearts, Roasted Red Peppers and Red Onion, served atop Spinach and Romaine with Balsamic Vinaigrette. My verdict: this Salad was sort of tasteless. Chop't and Sweetgreen are much better....
The good thing about eating a light lunch is that you can really binge at dinner...
Since everyone thought my dessert last night was so great, I had it again tonight. Everyone was right, this is a great dessert. Everyone should eat this every night...
