Saturday, October 27th

No breakfast today, Mr. SV & I got to Blue Moon Cafe right when they opened at 11am. We each started with a bowl of the Curried Chickpea Soup which was excellent.
I had the White Bean Bruschetta which was just so-so. Too much Balsamic Vinegar in the White Beans.
Boca Chikn Patties with Steamed Broccoli for dinner.
Mocha Fudge Ice Cream for dessert.
Though they look like all the other Barn Cat pics I've taken over the past year, these were taken this afternoon. Buttercup...
Mystique and Mom/Marmalade Umlaut (lounging on one of Mr. SV's broken office chairs).
Marmalade Umlaut wondering why I'm disturbing her slumber.
Donovan...
Buttercup and Jasper proving that they are not one and the same.
Donovan and a Guinea..
Jasper...
Something else of interest (to me anyway). A woman at the Farmers Market was selling Baby Ginger and Lemon Grass.
I didn't buy any cuz I didn't know what I would do with it, but thought it was an interesting local crop.
Coming up tomorrow: More storm prep.

The weather was so exquisite, I absolutely had to dine al fresco today, so lunch was at Blue Moon Cafe. My Veggie Wrap and Fries...
Tempeh and Pumpkin Seed Salad with Goddess Dressing for dinner.
Sweet and Natural Chocolate Fudge Cake for dessert, but not a single pic was in focus. Coming up tomorrow: Going into the office an hour earlier than usual.

Corn Season Is Upon Us

An Al Fresco lunch at Blue Moon Cafe, where Mr. SV & I shared the Hummus appetizer $5.95
and I had the 'Veggie Smack Sandwich' $8.50 Hummus, Oven Roasted Tomato, Cucumber, Jalapeno, Roasted Red Pepper on a toasted Whole Wheat Kaiser Roll. Roasted Corn Salad on the side.

Mr. SV took a pic of his lunch, the 'Southwest Wrap' $7.50 Brown Rice, Black Beans, Baby Spinach, Tomato & Salsa.

Speaking of Mr. SV & Corn, he grilled some outside tonight.

The smokey Corn alongside Morningstar Vegan Grillers was very tasty.

A few old Peanut Chews for dessert.

Matthew Fox Shiraz.

More Sandwich and Soup

Lunch was a Hummus, Tomato, Cucumber, Sun-Dried Tomato, Jalapeno, Onion & Red Pepper Sandwich on Ciabatta at Blue Moon Cafe. Red Quinoa on the side. A delightful day to dine Al Fresco (under the umbrellas and trees).
Dinner was the rest of the Veggie Soup I made over a week ago. Some Tofurky Italian Sausage was added.
Dessert was a couple Coconut Peanut Butter Cups.
One bottle of Matthew Fox Merlot.

Blue Moon Cafe

Lunch today was at Blue Moon Cafe in Shepherdstown
West Virginia. The cafe is known for its outdoor dining but
unfortunately, due to Tropical Storm Hanna, we ate
indoors.

We started with the Tuscan White Bean Bruschetta,
("a savory blend of northern white beans, olive oil,
balsamic vinegar, fresh garlic & basil served with
toasted ciabatta fingers") which came out looking unlike
Bruschetta and more like a pile of beans and some
bread crusts. It turned out to be delicious! We loved it!

I had the Veggie Wrap ("Lettuce, tomato, onion,
cucumber, sprouts, hummus, Jack, and sun dried
tomato mayo"). It was just so so. It probably would've
been better if it was made w/the cheese & mayo,
but I certainly felt good after I ate it.
