Sunday, June 14th

Instead of TFK, I thought I should check out Clare and Don's Beach Shack just to make sure I hadnt given Ingrid any bogus advice on where to dine during her visit to the area....the 'Fried Dill Pickle Chips' were as pleasing as ever...
my 'Blackened Tofu Sandwich' was excellent as well (although, I made the mistake of eating the whole thing. Waaaay too much food). Clare and Don's is still a solid restaurant recommendation...
Speaking of other local favorites, I tried the new 'Veg In' Pizza from LEDO Pizzeria for dinner. LEDO Sauce, Spinach, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Black Olives, Jalapenos, Fresh Basil and Cilantro. Loved it.
Found an ancient Eli's Dream Bar for dessert. Quite the workout gnawing on this old thing...
All my favorites again tomorrow. Bye for now.

No. Way. What time were you there?! Grandma and I were at the Shack around 1pm (Falls Church location)! I had that very sandwich, it was so good!! Thank you for the recommendation! Ha ha! Our world just went from small to tiny! ;)

Fried pickles are a beautiful thing. As is that tofu sandwich. Is it baked with Old Bay or something? I've seen only a few blackened tofu recipes, but never attempted one. I woulda eaten the whole thing too.
Cilantro on a pizza sounds interesting; I could get behind that.
Nice looking bar, if a little tough to chew.
As far as the straight edge thing goes, I don't actually drink anymore! I can't really claim edge but it's been about 3 months since I've drank! Which is a very good thing...

Maybe you walked past ingrid and never knew it!! Too funny.
Those fried pickles seriously look wonderful- it seems the only places here with fried pickles are bbq places, aka I won't go because of a million reasons. Lots of fu on that sandwich, nice that they're generous.
I don't understand that "pizza", but if it was good that's all that counts.

DF mavens was really good, no cashew caramel but the coconut milk chocolate was delicious. I think the shop FKA Lula's has better flavors but the hours they're open are odd and its further away. I'll be back at both soon!

Hey Now!!!!

Ingrid, I thought you went to Clare and Dons on Saturday. We got there at 11:30 yestersay and were done by 12:15 at the latest. I do hope you and Grandma enjoyed it. Sure wish it was more convenient to me. i love those Fried Dill Pickle Chips.

FF, i have no clue how they blacken the Tofu, but it is tasty. That is admirable that you arent drinking anymore. Should free up lots of extra time to blog *cough!* *cough!*

Unknown, Ingrid will have to remain firmly lodgd in my imagination. Missed her by an hour. It is hard to keep track of all the Cilantro lovers and haters. They're all certainly passionate in their feelings, whereas, I am completely indifferent. Why do those NYC Vegan Ice Cream places have such odd names? More importantly, will there ever be vegan Gelato?

VP, It is hard work getting all this guaranteed deliciousness together.

Abby, I didnt see or taste any Cilantro on the Pizza but it does seem weird.
