Sunday, January 27th

Although a Thai restaurant, Faang makes really good sushi...big and fresh...a great way to break the fast.
My Tofu with Cashews was excellent as well.
It was a major Mr. & Mrs. SV day. After lunch, Mr. SV & I toiled in the kitchen to try to recreate the Vegan Chili from Black Bear Bistro. We came surprisingly close, but were unable to capture that elusive something something. Not giving up yet though.
The other half of Sweet & Natural Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Icing for dessert.
Earlier today, Mr. SV went in search of Larry's Coffee (he's still an addict and this is his new brand of choice). The coffee was found at a store called For Goodness Sake which has been in business many years, but I am ashamed to say I had never heard of it. I had to buy something too, so I got a Vanilla Lip Balm in a compostable tube (I love composting) and a Grapeseed Oil Lip Balm.
That's enough sharing for one day. Back tomorrow for more.

Now, I know you like lip balm and composting - will wonders never cease? I'm with you on trying to recreate a restaurant fave. There's a hot and sour soup I am so close too, yet it evades me still.

Hey, long time no see...sorry I've been errant.

Looks like the yummy food is still in full swing here. The sushi and the tofu both look fab.

Keep trying with the chili...you'll get it. I wonder what their secret ingredient is.

Faang. Faaang. Fuun. Great looking sushi.
Have you ever asked a restaurant for a recipe?
Glad to see dessert is back. I have nothing tonight and need to at least someone else enjoying the sweets.

Those sushi rolls really do look good. I love big veggie rolls. Yum, tofu. I've been loving tofu at my favorite Thai place lately.

Good luck with the chili.

Hey Now!!!!

Blessed Mama, Hot & Sour Soup can never be truly recreated by non-Asians. You didn't get that memo?

Rose, always happy to see you! No pressure to comment around here. It's all casual.

FF, can't you sneak some of your roommates treats? Don't they keep anything good?

Nikki, thanks. I am doubtful we'll eat be able to capture that mysterious flavor in the Chili. At least I'm not suspicious that it might be something gross.

Ack I missed this post! Sorry!! I agree with the above sentiments, the sushi roll does look really delicious. Very cute that you and Mr. SV had a day full of QT and that you worked together to recreate the chili! Very cool that you got so close too! How are the lip balms? I have a million because my lips are always chapped and am always looking for a good recommendation :)
