Friday, January 18th

I was off work today, so I got to sleep in late and meet Mom for lunch. It was the unusually buttery Mediterranean Pasta $14.15 (weird price) at Brio. The menu says this dish has 1,000 calories (when made with the feta) and they gave me a massive portion.
Then I had the not so great idea to pick up MaFo Tofu from PF Changs for dinner. Again, I got a massive portion.
That's what I ate today and it was way too much.

And that's why I hate it when they list the calories on the menu, ha! I feel like 1,000 calories is quite excessive for a veggie/pasta dish. I don't know how many calories feta has, do they just use a lot of oil? It does have a little bit of a glow I guess. It looks great nonetheless. That tofu dish always looks great too. Hopefully you are fully digested for some yummy weekend eats!

Looks good to me with my gigantic appetite. I agree with Sarah, how in the heck do they stuff 1,000 calories into that pasta dish?

Well, if your'e going to eat too much at least it was all delicious! Both dishes look fantastic, although as Sarah said, 1000 calories for a pasta dish does seem excessive. Maybe that's the feta, though.

Oh, and yes, Mike does gag with the organic kraut, too. I'm the same way with olives, so I guess we're even.

I wish I could comment on the food but the 14.15 is nagging at my obsessively riddled little heart. WHY??? maybe the 1000 calories is just after they factor in all the stress damage the price does to yr heart. Ugh.

I overindulged in pasta last night, so I feel your pain. I need to make some greens happen today, and take the day off from heavy meals!

One personal day a year?! I hope you at least get two weeks for vacation. We too have "use them, or lose them" personal days - but I don't usually use them (there are four) because we have federal holidays and breaks.

Hey Now!!!!

VaVa, I'm not sure if it is a good thing to put that information on the menu. Had I ordered the Field Greens Salad, I would've only had 380 calories.

Nikki, I've been snarfing down this pasta dish for years. Not to mention the mini loaf of bread...

Molly, no Olives?! Sacrilege!!! You should post your wedding photos/details sometime. I'd love to know what you agreed to serve at your wedding.

FF, I kept checking the receipt over and over cuz $14.15 looked so weird.

Ingrid, I get about three weeks vacation now (been at my current company over five years). We get to keep up to 160 hours of vacation time before losing it. I could never be a teacher. I don't care how gratifying and fulfilling it may be.
