WFH Wednesday

Lunch was Tofutti Cream Cheese with sliced Olives on a toasted Wegman's Everything Bagel...
Dinner was Tostadas and Corn on the Cob.
Dessert was yet more Chocolate Hazelnut Coconut Bliss on a slice of the cake that never ends. Food lasts ten times longer around the house when it is something Mr. SV doesn't like.
Lots of Liberty Creek Cabernet Sauvignon...

Looks good. Same story in our house--the less delicious stuff just seems to linger on and on and on....

I have got to try those cream cheeze/olive sandwiches...I remember those from last week. Those tostadas look especially tasty too.

Maybe you should have a cake countdown? How many pieces left to go?

Well at least you are not wasting the cake. Good girl :P And that is how it goes with EVERYthing I make in my house since I am the only vegan. My husband will always say things like, Why do you always make so much! You made a Huge pot of soup! I'm bad at making small portions of stuff because I am used to cooking for my family, but since it's a hit or miss with vegan things and my husband and brother, I just have to wait and see.

I would also like to know more about this amazing cake of lastingness. What kind of cake was it? Why doesn't Mr. SV like it?

PS I did not mean to imply that your cake isn't delicious. I just meant that in our place, if we both like something, we tear thru it like a pack of feral hyenas, but I'm the only one who seems to feel compelled to finish everything, even if it's something that wasn't broadly popular.

Ooh, tostadas! Tex-mex type stuff, and olives for that matter, are things my Mr. doesn't like. I should have them on my own.

Those tostadas look delish! I find that I have some foods lasting a lot longer around my house nowdays, since I became vegan. My husband isn't vegan therefore he doesn't think very highly of what I cook..ha

You still have that cake?! Did you freeze some? I'm amazed that its stayed fresh so long. BTW, I'm still drooling over that olive bagel situation. I need to make that a part of my life very, very soon.

Hello, Ladies!

The cake is just a regular 9" double layer cake. It is actually pretty delicious, but Mr. SV can't handle the radical flavor of the blueberry icing. If I'd known he wasn't going to be eating it, I would've put coconut on it.

We should all list the foods our Mr.s can't abide by -- my child, er man, can't do coconut, lemon, mayonnaise, sour cream, non-yellow mustard, black olives, horseradish/wasabi, fruit flavors mixed with chocolate flavors, banana flavors that aren't just fresh bananas -- pretty much all the stuff that makes life worth living.
