Sunday, June 3rd

I've been craving Avocado something fierce ever since Blessed Mama's recent post. I had to wait till 11:30 this morning, but it was worth it for this breakfast of Guacamole and Chips $4.50....
and five minutes later, lunch was the Tofu Tacos $8.75 at Clare and Don's Beach Shack.
Morningstar Farms Vegan Grillers and TJ's Tots for dinner.
WF's Vegan Blueberry Pie for dessert.
The chicks finally went outside (on grass) for the first time. These were the best pics I could get of the momentous occasion.
Chicky's leg will never be 'right'. We're just going to have to continue to see if he/she can make do the way it is.
Below is our Bantam Silky Rooster, Jerry. He's around five years old and does a great job guarding the hens.
and here's a pretty weed....
This concludes our 'Show and Tell' portion of the post. Coming up tomorrow: Working from home.

Love the animal photos, as always!! SO cute! Aww I'm sure little Chicky will adapt to his/her adversity. Animals are pretty resilient, I'm sure he/she will thrive, especially with such a great mom! Pretty flower pic too!

LOVE the breakfast/lunch! I'm a total avocado junkie so I know how that goes. The tacos looks really great too, very fresh! How did they taste?

Gotta love the tots! I'm totally having some the day after Tough Mudder :) Along with whatever the hell else I want haha! The pie looks yummy too!

I might be a bit behind, but I just noticed your cover photo has been updated with a summer river shot - how delayed am I? I do love it!

Guacamole for breakfast sounds great. I believe Clare and Don's was one of your recommendations for my next Falls Church visit?

Blueberry pie sounds delicious! Yum!

Sad to hear about Chicky's life long disability, do you know how the injury originally occurred? Jerry is beautiful!

I would never be able to wait until 11:30 to eat any meal. But it does look worth it. How were the tacos? Was the tofu cooked much? It looks kinda um...floppy?
Gorgeous rooster! the neighbors have some chickens next door but I don't know if there are any roosters. Very nice "weed" picture. In Brooklyn, we take any greenery we can get.

Jerry is so handsome! The chicks are really growing fast and that's too bad that Chicky will be disabled, but great that they all have a wonderful home. :)

Love the breakfast & lunch at the same time. Yum!!

Hey Now!!!!

VaVa, yes, the Tacos were great. So a major binge after the Tough Mudder? Don't waste the calories on all the 'free' subs and crap they put out after triathalons.

Ingrid, I think Clare and Don's is a good Falls Church choice because non-vegans can get great grub as well. No, I don't know how Chicky hurt his leg. He was part of a large quantity of eggs that were hatched and I'm sure it was a rough time.

GFHTummy, thanks for looking!

FF, the Tacos were great and the Tofu was firm, thanks. But what you lack in greenery, you make up for with 'local color'.

AikoVenus, thanks and thanks!

Molly, Jerry is great little guy. We're quite tickled by him.
