Thursday, January 16th

A Grapefruit with some Goji Berry Energy Bites for breakfast...
Following a relatively decent bowl of Potbelly 'Garden Vegetable Soup,' lunch was a free bag of Zapp's Chips and the 'Tofurky Hickory Deli Slice Sandwich' I packed for myself....
Balsamic Roasted Tofu from WF's with Roasted Carrots for dinner.
No dessert again. Coming up tomorrow: lunch with the woman who gave birth to me. Who will torture who more?

I am impressed at how much pith you removes from the grapefruit! Good idea to pack the sandwich, and who doesn't love some chips??
I'll heed your advice and keep walking by potbelly...

I suspect that if you get a nice strong drink as your lunch appetizer it will go a long way towards making the meal more enjoyable :)

A vibrantly colored food day! The grapefruits I've encountered have been quite good, I hope they are just as fabulous on your side of the continent.

Did you bring that lunch just so the post wouldn't be weirdly skewed with only two meals? Or are you usually still hungry after Potbelly?
Do they give you anything to dip into the soup??
Try not to torture yr mother too much.

I was totally addicted to those energy bites until I hit a nut shell. Other than that, they're pretty good. Looking forward to tomorrow!

Hey Now!!!!

Unknown, I kinda find peeling a Grapefruit to be soothing. I don't get why everyone doesn't eat them this way. I am enjoying my (first) nice strong drink now at home.

Ingrid, the Grapefruits on this side of the continent have been great. Really delightful. What's going on in Grapefruit Land that they're so good this year?

FF, I brought the Sandwich because I was terrified of going hungry after just a bowl of Soup. Of course the Soup was more than enough, but I still had to eat the sandwich since I brought it. The packet of Oyster Crackers that came with my Soup was brought home for Mr. SV. I'll try not to torture my mother if you'll try not to torture yours.

Abby, I suppose the nut shell in the Energy Bite shows how 'natural' it is. Like finding grass and weeds in organic Spinach.

Hannah, well at least your brother sent you some candy bars. That's close to eating with family.

Definitely a great idea to bring your lunch to supplement the soup today. The sandwich looks great so hopefully you were satisfied :) I wish I didn't have my grapefruit aversion (stupid stomach virus!!) because yours looks yummy. Dinner is really lovely too. Very elegant :)

I go to Florida in the spring, there is no set month... last year happened to be May... I went in February one year, April another. This year I just knew my friend and I both needed the break sooner rather than later!
