Sunday, January 26th

We decided to throw caution to the wind and return to Harriman's for breakfast this morning. Fortunately, we got Taylor (the only person that seems to know what's going on there/it will be a huge loss when he goes off to college) as our server, so it wasn't an unpleasant experience. We both enjoyed the 'Tofu Scramble' $12 Vine Ripened Tomatoes, Green Onions, Tempeh Bacon (Sausage?) and Roasted Potatoes with a Roasted Tomato. Very delicious...
For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to get Indian Chickpeas and Brown Rice off the WF's Hot Bar for dinner. I was wrong. It was tedious and/or monotonous shoveling this stuff in..
The below worked out well. Almond Dream Praline Crunch with Ahlaska Chocolate Syrup for dessert...
I don't anticipate eating anything new or different tomorrow, so check back in again on Tuesday.

That's great that breakfast was a good experience! You must have felt so relieved when the only competent waiter came up to you ;) The tofu scramble looks really delicious as always. Too bad dinner was crappy but at least dessert made up for it! You can never go wrong with ice cream!

Ha! I will never get over the tempeh bacon/sausage debacle. Just let Taylor know he needs to go to an in-state college, and work weekends at Harriman's.

Disappointing WF hot bar meals are frustrating because they are not cheap, and it's a total gamble. Argh!

Too bad - I missed yesterday's post, so coming back tomorrow to see all the "boring" you post. ;)

Glad you lucked out and didn't get the same idiots from your previous visit! That really is a great looking meal.
Those indian chickpeas sound like a good idea..... But brown rice i max out at three bites so i know what you mean.
Looking at your ice cream makes me cold!! Nice chocolate drizzling on there.

No Balthazar today (tho i've been too many times), we went to NoMad and i had a few wonderful (nothing fishy!) bloody marys and basically a plate of elegant leaves. Whatevs. The company was great and we were all happily shitfaced by 4. :)

Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky! Mayeb Taylor won't get into college! #stillabadhuman

PS Yep, I definitely blame my mother's anti-junk stance during my childhood for my insatiable junkfood love. The flaw in your argument, though, is that I love vegetables just as much as sweets.

We have certain servers we hope for when we go to a few restaurants. It can make all the difference!

I found out that Fort Collins has a food truck that serves Cocomel caramel sauce on their frozen desserts, which made me think of you. :)

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, you got it: 'relief' is exactly what we felt not having to wonder what was going to happen to us at Harrimans. Ice Cream is always 100% guaranteed delicious.

Ingrid, I will let Taylor know he must apply to Shenandoah University and must major in Restaurant Management. I happened to go to WFs when I was hungry and stocked up on stuff I usually wouldn't get.

Unknown, NoMad looks way too high falutin for me. Four kinds of $15 Bloody Marys? Only if I can stagger back up to my $600 room afterwards.

Hannah, have I seen you post about Veggies? I seem to recall some crudite with vino, but that's about it. My mother didn't allow junkfood either, but now she's the one who goes to McDonalds. It's very uncool.

RVs, I didn't know there was Cocomel Sauce. I need to get me some of that.

FF, move along. Nothing to see here.

This might be confusing to a blogger who posts everything she eats daily, but 95% of my life does not end up on the blog. Including my daily enormous bowl of vegetables. Fancy that!
