Tuesday, December 31st

Breakfast was the last of my Daiya Cream Cheese on a toasted Wegmans' Pumpernickel Bagel...
Mr. SVegetarian & I took the afternoon off and went to Clare and Don's Beach Shack. Started the New Years celebration early with a Painkiller $7. Caught a good buzz off it. By which I mean their bartender made it really good...
Split some Fried Dill Pickle Chips $4 for an appetizer...
my second Painkiller. Soon my pain was killed...
my Blackened Tofu and Fries $8.75. Everything was above and beyond my expectations....
No dinner. Just a bottle of Shingleback Black Bubbles to ring in the New Year....
Guess I'll just keep posting my meals into 2014.  Thanks to everyone who commented this year.

Ooooh loving today's meals and beverages!! How nice that you and Mr. SVegetarian were able to take off and spend the afternoon together. THe painkiller sounds delicious! I bet you were feeling pretty good after two ;) The fried pickles look amazing as always and lunch also looks great! You normally get it as a sandwich right? Looks great as a platter too. I'm curious about your "dinner"/drink. I've never seen that before! I hope you have a great night and a very happy, healthy New Year!

And yes, I do plan on blogging/checking in on my Challenge between January 5 and 25!

Yay! Let the blogging hobby continue! I love our "chats" and all the interaction this medium brings. It's as though we are all neighbors who catch up with each other, swapping ideas, and having a laugh. I'm so thankful for you, and your posts!

I need to try a Painkiller, it sounds numbingly wonderful. Delicious meals yet again!

Happy new year!
Glad you had a short day and such a great lunch- those drinks sound amazing and the fried pickles look great. The sparkling shiraz looks so dramatic! Is it similar to lambrusco? I discovered and fell in love with lambrusco last year but haven't seen your bottle before.

Haha, thanks for the hummus and pickle 'wich nod, glad you enjoy it as much as i do :)

Happy New Year!! Here's to a 2014 filled with naught but delicious alcohol and cake (and the occasional steelcut oats, tater tots, and tomato-topped burger patties).

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, I do usually get the Blackened Tofu Sandwich, but after the Bagel, I went for the 'Basket' instead. Looking forward to following your 2014 Challenge. I need the healthy inspiration.

Ingrid, blogging is a strange thing, but apparently it works for us, so who's to say if it's wrong or right? A Painkiller is awesome.

Unknown, I am unfamiliar with Lambrusco. The Sparkling Shiraz is really good stuff. $18/bottle at Wegmans but doesn't make you feel bad after drinking it. Yep, you turned me on to a lot of good stuff in 2013. Sure wish you would blog so we could all see your cool Manhattan eats (and Mason).

Hannah, oh, if only I'd change up my eats to more exciting stuff, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Although my immediate goal is to make my Tater Tots from scratch.

Does anyone know where to get fried pickles in the NYC area? Why are they eluding me?

They're on a lot of menus down here. I'm sure they'll be working their way up to NYC in no time.
