Thursday, June 26th

The Air Conditioning Repairman Cameth. Although finally nice and chilly inside, I still didn't need to turn on the oven for the third day in a row...
Mr. SVegetarian took a vacation day and, while out on his motorcycle, he picked me up a 'Tofurky Reuben' from the Common Market (as well as some Eggless Egg Salad for next weeks lunches)...
More PF Changs Ma Po Tofu reheated on the stove for dinner..
A few cheerful sights around the property today. A self-sowed Squash that has been growing vigorously in the compost pile area. This pic was taken in the afternoon when the blossoms had withered but still so eye-catching...
the Squirrels planted this Sunflower and the Deer allowed it to grow to fruition...
Thumper loves laying on newspaper. The more the better...
No lunch with Mom tomorrow, she's back at the beach. Bye for now.

I am in love with that picture of Thumper!! How freakin adorable!! I love all of the non-food pictures you share with us. I always love seeing a little peek into your house and yard :)

I don't blame you at all for not wanting to turn on the oven again. I think the oven is pretty much retired until fall here. How nice of Mr. SV to get you lunch and some eggless egg salad. And the Ma Po tofu looks great even reheated a few days after you got it :)

I will make it my mission, upon next visiting Grandma (no idea when)to try this Common Market Reuben.

Beautiful flowers, and I want to snuggle Thumper - looking very adorable!

P.S. I think what is stopping me regarding PF Changs is proximity. There isn't one close, but I will get there eventually! ;)

Yaaay!! No more Schweaty Shen :)
I have zero plans for my oven in the forseeable future myself.
Fabulous lunch there, the bread looks like it was perfectly toasted too. And an eggless salad stash is reassuring. (Reasurring?? Ugh. Spelling issues. )

Frozen grapes are perfect after about an hour in the freezer so the insides are semi frozen. Or just freeze them solid and let thaw about ten minutes before eating. Not like chewing ice, like a pop of frozen grape slushy bites!

The Reuben looks as incredible as always. Very kind of mr. SV.
I love squash blossoms. You ever pick and eat them?

Thumper is adorable and I want that sandwich in my life! You reap a better haul from your accidental garden than I do from my on purpose one.

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, I wish more interesting things happened in my house and yard so I could show more pictures of the goings ons. Definitely gotta stock up on more Ma Po Tofu (and dont forget to add PF Changs to your bucket list).

Ingrid, speaking of lack of proximity, the Common Market is about an hour from Falls Church. When the time comes to visit Grandma, we'll reassess the local Reuben situation.

Unknown, well, I'm still pretty schweaty at times, but at least now I eventually cool off. I will pick up some Grapes when I'm out tomorrow and try your idea.

FF, I've never had a Squash Blossom. Have you ever had a Steamed Artichoke?

Abby, on purpose gardens haven't worked well for me either.
