Smooth Operator

I'm finally catching on to how to make Smoothies. This one had a frozen Banana, a few frozen Strawberries, a Nectarine, two TBSPs of Chia Seeds, 1/4 cup Hazelnut Milk (not mine, just bought in store) with just a few ice cubes and some water. Tasted like an actual Smoothie that one would buy in a store.
Asmar's Veggie Tuna Salad Sandwich for lunch.

Navy Bean Soup from Mom's Place for dinner. According to Mom/Stella, it's the Tomato Paste/Sauce? in the soup that gives it that distinctive orange hue. Mom's Place has just added a Boca Burger (as well as Spaghetti Marinara & a Vegetable Plate) to their menu. Yay! Because Mr. SV is out of town this weekend, we will have to wait till next weekend to partake, but Stella/Mom promised that they would still be around next weekend. (No OCD there).
LaGranja Syrah.

no..no ocd detected:) you added the chia seeds for thickness? or nutriton? sometimes ill add guar gum to mone, but i cant really tell the difference. your smoothie looks really creamy and good!ill normally do frozen strawberies, blueberries, peaches, and juice. NO ICE! lol whenever i get a smoothie at a smoothie place they always argue with me about the stupid ice, i hate ice in a smoothie and YES you CAN do it without!! now i have been adding vanilla! if you just do peaches, strawberries, raspberry juice and vanilla, it tastes like a liquid starburst....SO GOOD!!

I don't put ice in my smooties, either. The one you made looks perfect! I've been seeing a lot of posts about people putting chia seeds in their smoothies, so I'm curious like dirtyduck about their purpose.

Glad you figured out how to put fruit in a blender and press a button.

The smoothie turned out a really nice color... I think your well on your way to joining the smoothie experts, which is a league of its own...I mean perfecting the taste of starburst in liquid form is a high bar to match!

And great news about the menu additions at one of your favorite haunts. I'll be looking forward to pics of the new items.

Great job- looks delish! Sometimes I do add ice if I am not using a lot of frozen fruit.

I didn't know there was a debate about ice in smoothies. I'm pro-ice, but try it both ways and see what you like. I'm not prepared to argue my side like Michelle did.

That's incredible news about the menu additions at Mom's!!

Shen, if yr really looking for smoothie ideas, I forgot - there was a bit in a Real Simple mag a few issues back with some nice ideas and photos. I did a search and some other ones came up as well.

Nice smoothie idea! I'm embarrassed to say that I had to think for a sec what a nectarine is...I haven't seen one since August!

Smoothie controversy!

Michelle1, I add the Chia Seeds for Omega-3. I'm going to try and ween myself away from the ice, but it is counter-intuitive for me.

FF, I'm getting a vibe that you think making Smoothies is really simple.

The smoothie sounds delicious! I love smoothies for a quick and easy on the go meal. Another great thing to add into them is raw unflavored hemp protein. here is the link to the one I get. It has a mild flavor so it doesnt change the flavor of the smoothie and will last you forever.

Chia seeds are a great addition too! So good for the calicium along with many other good things.
And YAY that Moms place is getting a vegan burger now! Its SO NICE for us vegans when restaurants have a few things to offer us!
