Sunday, July 20th

A tasty but tough morning at LPQ. The staff was completely overwhelmed. I remembered to ask for Avocado, and they remembered to charge me for it, but they couldn't remember to serve it to me. Not able to flag anyone down initially, I just made do. The Avocado Toast is $9.95, and I just didn't feel like spending $10 at that moment. Afterwards, I bailed on getting carryout due to the line there....
Whole Food was mobbed as well. No worthwhile sales on produce that I saw....
The PB is for the Pups. They each get a spoonful morning and night when Poley takes his thyroid meds....
A Randy Radish (Field Roast) Corn Dog with WF's Fireworks Slaw. The Corn Dog reheated perfectly in the oven...
The Slaw was a nice change of pace...
A big piece of a Randy Radish Oatmeal Chocolate Cookie for desserrt....
Cube food tomorrow. Bye for now.

While the tofu scramble does look delicious as always, that is annoying about the avocado... especially to be charged for it. And as much as I love avocado toast I can't possibly imagine how I would justify spending $10 on it in a restaurant. That is pretty steep.

Looks like you got some yummy treats at Whole Foods. The slaw does look really good and the cookie is the perfect way to cap off a day.

Boo for the cube!

Sounds like LPQ was stressful today! Too bad about the avocado and intense line for take out.
I can't deal with whole foods (or trader joe's) on a sunday, its just so insane busy and crowded that it freaks me out and i end up getting my heels clipped by carts.

That slaw sounds fantastic! And so colorful too. Even as a kid i just peeled off the outside of a corn dog, with a field roast sausage that sounds like the best idea ever though. Funny shaped cookie chunk but it looks like it had some great texture.

I brought a mexican-ish salad with lots of cilantro, black beans, pumpkin seeds, chopped jicama and radishes, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and lime vinegrette. Not sure they even noticed it was vegan, which is a high compliment :) no leftovers either.

I will overlook the expensive avocado omission for the fact that you bought a pie, and ate a corndog. Good things.

Vegan Van: she went out of business early last fall, as she couldn't keep up with the demands of repairing her van. There were a few murmurs of a Kickstarter for a brick & mortar establishment, but nothing more.

What is holding up the corn dog?
I hate when things go wrong at restaurants. It just makes the meal stressful. maybe you could just bring yr own avocado next time. And don't buy the toast! You can make that so easily! They even tell you what's on the toast, right? Take their bread home and do it!
Love the sound of the slaw. A good crunch is always a nice component of a meal.

Hey Now!!!!!

Sarah, some of LPQ's prices seem high to me, but I will have to try the Avocado Toast to see if it is overpriced. Then MAYBE you will go and try it!

Unknown, I never had a corn Dog till last summer from The Randy Radish (although I had many Sloppy Joes;-)) I tried breaking the Cookie evenly in half, but it wasn!'t cooperating. Your Mexican Dish does sound great. No Jalapeno?

Ingrid, hwo could the Vegan Van go out of business??? you always had to wait in line a half hour to get her grub! Strange!

FF, there is a rather menacing wooden stick inserted in the Corn Dog. I dampen the exposed wood before reheating in the oven, although no one told me to do so. I have to try LPQ's Avocado Toast to see what it is before I attemtp to recreate it. i am semi okay with things going wrong in a restaurant. My mother is totally not and so things always go wrong when she and I eat out. Now that is some kind of stress.
