Sunday, July 27th

I returned to LPQ to see if they would remember the Avocado, and if not, to remind them when I'm actually served. Turned out, there was no Tofu in the kitchen to make the Sramble anyway. I opted for the Six Vegetable Tart $12.75, which is beautiful and delicious, but overpriced IMO for the portion. The Roasted Artichoke on top was particularly enjoyable, perhaps that is why the dish is so expensive...
Sloppy Joes on Rudi's WW Buns with Corn on the Cob for dinner...
decided to see if anything was doing with my wild Squash Vine this afternoon. Sho nuff, there is a Squash of some sort developing. I didn't touch it, lest I disconnect it from the vine, but I know it doesn't bode well to leave it on the ground....

A Strawberry Cupcake from Out Of The Bubble Bakery for dessert...
Back to WFH grub tomorrow. Bye for now.

Git that squash! Have you ever eaten one you've grown? Do you know what kind it is? It looks like kabocha, maybe.
LPQ needs to get their shit together. I would probably have stopped going there at this point. But how sad you got all riled up to complain and couldn't.
Very pretty little cupcake.

Maybe its a good thing they ran out of tofu because that means there is a demand for it...?? Your tart is gorgeous but that is a few bucks more than it should be.

The squash looks great! How do you know when to pick it?? Sloppy joes and corn sound great. I keep adding raw corn off the cob to salads lately.
What a cute cupcake! I don't see strawberry cupcakes very often....

Maybe it was a good thing that they ran out of tofu because you probably would not have tried that gorgeous tart! It looks amazing even though it was a bit pricey.

How exciting to be able to pick produce right from your yard! It looks like a beautiful squash, I can't wait to see what you do to it. I actually just picked up corn from the store today, I can't wait to eat it! Beautiful cupcake too!

The tart does look pretty, and how does one "run out" of tofu? Perhaps so many people are ordering it that they need to add more vegan choices to the menu? One can hope.

Yay, corn season! I haven't purchased any yet but I should. I'm not a big cupcake lover, but the idea of a strawberry one is appealing.

Pick the squash!

I agree with Ingrid; they ran out of tofu? Pretty sure you can buy some more pretty easily, although it's not as hilarious as when a Starbucks within a supermarket tells you they're out of soy milk.

Hey Now!!!!!

FF, it is a mystery Squash, so I am unsure how I would even tell if it has finished growing. If it is still there next week, I will post another pic in hopes someone recognizes it. Any vegetables I've grown in the past were eaten by critters before I could eat them, which i am okay with. Berries I can grow with success. If I had all your vegan options, I might consider giving up on LPQ as well. (and I wasn't going to complain, I just wanted to pay attention when I was served if everything was as it should be)

Unknown, I doubt that is the reason why LPQ ran out, but it is a nice thought. Seemed more like they chose not to order the Tofu cuz they're into moving other items. If it happens again this weekend, I will spring for the Avocado Toast. Your guess is as good as mine as to when to pick the Squash.

Sarah, based on my gardening track rcord, the Squash will not make it to fruition. The only reason it might is because I didn't actually plant it. It planted itself. Hope you enjoy your Corn! (really hoping to macerate tomorrow. for some reason I am terrified to do it).

Ingrid, I think corn season has officially arrived here. I think your zone is a week or two behind us. I know you're all about the watermelon anyway.

Abby, that's why you got into an Ivy League School . Never crossed my mind for a second that there is a grocery store right next door to LPQ that sells tons of Tofu. I should be working at a Starbucks in a grocery store.
