Sunday, July 13th

Today was more like Friday the 13th. I wont detail all the things that went wrong today, but it all began when we attempted to go to breakfast at Mellow Moods in Charles Town. Even though there is no indication on their website or storefront, they aren't open on Sunday. So we went on to their Shepherdstown location. Our bad. I got the Tempeh Avocado Reuben which was very mediocre. From their lack of ability to post their hours to their lousy food, I am through with Mellow Moods.
Dinner was Mei Fun carried out from Red Lantern....
Here's another Butterfly today on The Milkweed, just for some color...
So glad I wont be leaving the property tomorrow. Bye for now.

I'm not a huge fan of the reuben sandwiches personally (although yours always look great) but I can tell just by the picture that this one wouldn't be as good as the others. Was the bread even toasted? It looks very pale. Sorry brunch was such an ordeal but dinner does look really delicious. I hope it made up for the lackluster breakfast.

Pretty flowers and pretty butterfly! We had some random pretty flowers sprout up by our house, maybe I'll take a few pics the next time outside.

My husband did not care for their Reuben either. Very blah. He said it needed a smokey flavor or any flavor to the tempeh. Common Market is a winner in our house, hands down. Our son and I did however enjoy the vegan, gluten free banana chocolate donuts at Mellow Moods.

Sounds like mellow moods is maybe too mellow about some general good business practices.....! The noodley dinner looks great.
The butterflies seem to love your gorgeous flowers..

Well, at LPQ you could do the avo toast at brunch and get the scramble to go....? Or just get the usual scramble and split the toast with the Mr, take home the bread from the scramble to dunk in gazpacho to go......

I leave for ten days, and your computer dies (what's the update, by the way? iPad for life?); you eat at new places, eat berries I've never heard of, take photos of flowers, and reveal Friday lunch answers...

I've missed you all. ;)

Hey Now!!!!!

Sarsh, the bread on the Reuben was so dry. Really had to choke it down. Wasn't easy. Maybe yiou should get one of thise nose masks when going out during this high pollen season. I'd be curious to see what flowers you have around your house.

Stephanie, we hit up both Mellow Moods locations between 9am and 9:30. Otheriwse, there is no doubt Common Market is vastly superior. The Mellow Moods baked goods looked pretty good -- Donuts, Cupcakes & Muffins, but I have decided no mas!

Unknown, can you believe Mr. SV does not eat Avocado? Your idea of getting the Scramble to go is excellent. Wonder how that would work out with it still not being officially on the menu? I have to show my support for the Avocado Toast.

Ingrid, can't wait to read all the minute details of your journey.
