Wednesday, January 25th

Everyone will be happy to know I couldn't get a single in focus pic of my breakfast. (It was just the usual Grapefruit & Energy Bite). Lunch went relatively smoothly at The Capital Grille. Thanks for everyone's well wishes. My Vegan Platter $12 - Tofu with Ginger Sauce, Mixed Vegetables and Steamed Rice was oustanding. The item is not on the menu but I'd called in advance to confirm that the chef prepares both vegan and vegetarian entrees upon request. Not my usual M.O. but I had to lay some groundwork. I'm sure I had the best meal in the restaurant today.
Chickpea Cutlets and Sweet Potato Fries with Curry Sauce for dinner.
So it was a good food day. The end.

Score on the lunch! I'm convinced that the special vegan meals made in restaurants are always the envy of everyone else; everyone secretly knows our food rocks more, even if they won't admit it.

Anyway, dinner looks yummy too.

That is one huge hunk of tofu! Did you take it by the fingers and dip it into the sauce? I think that's what I would have done. Is your mom supportive of your vegan way of life? Also, I'm diggin' the angle on the dinner shot. I love how you keep things interesting for your devoted readers.

Oh that tofu looks heavenly - what a pretty plate. Can't wait to try chickpea cutlets. Glad the luncheon went smoothly.

Hey Now!!!!

Rose, plus my meal was only $12. Super cheap for the surroundings. Thanks again.

Blessed Mama, the Tofu was eaten with a fork & knife. That might be something for your Royal Platter. My mother comments at least once a week that 'my diet is so restrictive'. Make of that what you will.

Miss Rachel, get on those Chickpea Cutlets! Or get Sweetie to make them.

VaVa, I found your comment in my Gmail account: VaVa wrote:"That is great that they were able to accommodate you at lunch! It looks really delicious too! I agree, you were probably the envy of the restaurant this afternoon. You dinner looks perfectly yummy and even though I'm freezing I could totally go for some ice cream! Or maybe hot chocolate.... Looks like a great food day!" Now, VaVa, I know you would never eat ice cream or hot chocolate, so don't even go there. But thanks! I do feel I was envy of the restaurant!

I would definitely eat ice cream and drink hot chocolate! I just haven't found a hot chocolate mix that I like and haven't found a recipe I wasn't too lazy to make. I do eat ice cream occasionally during the summer too :) Just way too cold now! Trust me, I indulge :)
