After all the exotic grub I ingested yesterday, I had to keep it simple today: Kashi Autumn Wheat for breakfast with Soy Milk...
I even skipped lunch, which it very unusual for me (but I'll make up for it somewhere). Bob's Red Mill Vegi Soup Mix for dinner to which I added Celery, Carrots, Green Pepper and Collard Greens.
Mr. SV liked it, but I thought it was the most boringest soup ever.
Dessert struck that fine balance between 'simple' but 'not boring': Blessed Mama's Pumpkin Pecan Bread with Chocolate Glaze. It is definitely not a cake, it's a bread, with icing, which gives it that element of 'fun' like Blessed Mama's other recipes. I foretell Mr. SV devouring the entire thing while he's home tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow, I hope all of you are off work for MLK's birthday. Alas, I am not.

Wooo, awesome looking cake.
I mean bread. :)
I don't have tomorrow off either.
Isn't it ridiculous?
I could really do with a day off!
Oh and I think your soup looked pretty interesting. I see all sorts of good foods in there!
Oh, sure, sure, you say it's delicious in your comments from "yesterday," but not boring here. Ha ha! Hopefully, it was closer to delicious than it was to not boring. Were the oats weird? At least the pressure's off me. When I know you're going to make something of mine, I sweat it. I much prefer to be blindsided.
Hey Now!!!!
Isotope, it's a cake! It's a bread! It's a cake! And I didn't listen to any music at all while making it.
Blessed Mama, the Pumpkin Bread was definitely delicious, moist texture, not heavy. Oats weren't noticeable at all. Chocolate Glaze was delightful. I'll heep more praise on the PB as the week progresses. (When I make the Sausage & Cheese Muffins I'll just blindside you so be prepared).
I find you really have to spice up those soup mix things. You've got the nutrition, though, for sure. Pumpkin and pecan...gah...chocolate glaze...double gah...not going there, not at all...I'm already totally out of control on peanut butter alone...
Well BlessedMama is the master of making delicious baked treats...looks good!
The soup mix does look like it could use something to flavor it up a bit...does it have onion in? I would add onion, garlic and maybe some herbs...parsley etc. Anyway, looks really nutritious.
Too bad you don't have MLK day off...Mr Dandelion doesn't either...what is with these companies? Sheesh!!!
That cake/bread/cake looks really delicious. You may have thought the soup was "boring" but it looks really hearty and delicious. This sick chick could definitely use some hearty soup to feel better!
PS If I wasn't sick I'd be at work right now, so you are definitely not the only one.
Thanks, I'm glad it wasn't heavy. I don't care for heavy breads or cakes or bread-cakes. As far as letting me know that you're going to blindside me, that's NOT blindsiding! Gulp. (When will she make them? Will she like them? Did I write the recipe down right?...) Oh, poor me.
Hey Now!!!! Again!!!!
Zoa, you eat Peanut Butter??? This must be some very special PB. What kind is it? Or are you grinding your own from your own Peanuts?
Rose, it's so funny you ask if the soup had Onion. It did not, and for that reason, I was going to give the remains to the pups (unheated of course), but Mr. SV chose to eat it for his dinner tonight instead. Selfish! Well, at least traffic was light today for me and Mr. Dandelion, so yay for that.
VaVa, somehow you staying home sick from work doesn't make me feel better about having had to go in, but thanks. You need some soup with lots of eastern spices/curry. Not a bunch of Barley and Celery. Try to find some Thai delivery so you can get back to blogging about that cleanse.
Blessed Mama, I'm sure the Sausage and Cheese Muffins will be just as fantastic as your post lead everyone to believe them to be. So relax. When you least expect it, I'll make them.
