Tuesday, January 3rd

The day started out really positive: an Apple and Energy Chunk for breakfast...Followed by some Steamed Vegetables and Spicy Tofu off the hot bar at WFs for lunch. I was holding it together pretty well. Then it got all 'I can afford to have this for dinner after my light breakfast and lunch' Field Roast Hazelnut Cranberry Roast En Croute and Zucchini Pancakes with Sour Supreme...Finally, it just went off the rails with the other half a slice of Chocolate Hazelnut Cake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut for dessert.Anyone else out there rooting for a fellow blogger on The Bachelor?

You can gotta finish up what you have, right? That's my theory. Get rid of it and then no more.
A couple of my co-workers have a Bachelor gambling pool where they make there picks and then have to pay up when their person gets eliminated. They are hardcore. They even printed up a cheat sheet with tips and stats on the contestants...but I really try not to pay attention to their conversations. Cause I'm an anti-TV grump.

It's all about balance. You ate well for most of the day and indulged a little at night. And, in all fairness, I firmly believe that that if you are going to indulge you may as well enjoy something amazing and that cake looks amazing! I am really liking the way your lunch looks though, very bright and delicious! Yum!

And I actually have noticed that stuffed grape leaves can differ a little bit in taste...mostly from brand to brand but once in a while I'll get a container that tastes more sour than usual. I just add more hummus ;)

Num-num, this all looks good, although I find it difficult to eat an apple early in the day. I have not yet tried the Field Roast en Croute, but I notice you seem to have it fairly often so it must be good, no? I've liked all the Field Roast stuff I've had so far.

Don't see what's so bad about enjoying a reasonable sized dessert after a day of healthy eating.

And finally... I never used to watch the Bachelor but my sister got me started on it last summer so I watched it on Hulu last night. Oh dear, that blogger girl seems to be a real head case who probably should not be on TV. I'm basically just rooting against the bitchy model.

I will say that cake looks worth a trip off the rails, and I don't even have much of a sweet tooth!

I've kinda gone off reality tv (with the exception of Top Chef). It seems populated by the kinds of people who would've beaten me up in high school.

It all looks good to me. And like Stacy, I don't have much of a sweet tooth in general, but I'm a sucker for chocolate cake.

That apple looks like it's intimidating the energy chunk.

I've never watched the Bachelor, but I still want the vegan to win!

Hey Now!!!!

FF, I make sure to take a sip of my drink every time some one says 'Amazing' on The Bachelor. I get totally trashed in no time at all. You and G will love it. Come on, you know you two need to spice things up a bit.

VaVa, I need to find less sour Grape Leaves. (Get it? No Sour Grape...Leaves..!) Haven't seen your brand locally yet.

Miss Rachel, the Field Roast En Croute is seasonal.Might have to wait till next Xmas to find it in your area. The blogger girl was priceless. As soon as the caption said she was a 'freelance writer', I declared, 'I'm a freelance writer!' And that model is a See You Next Tuesday!!!! Plus, it's so obvs tht 'Blakely' is stripper. I'm out of my mind for this season of The Bachelor!

Stacy, two different types of crazies with the high school losers and the reality show losers. Are you referring to that huge b*tch 'Heather' on Top Chef that abused that little Asian chick and then got voted off? That's not like the nutjobs on The Bachelor at all. Oofah! ABC really pulled out all the stops this season.

Rose, now this was one intense Chocolatey Cake. They don't come along too often in life.

Molly, the blogger chick ain't vegan. Just a girl who makes her living blogging. Supposedly. Spends all her time in the bathroom bawling her eyes out. Set your DVR for next Monday.

Actually, you have far more than five to ten readers. You are just second to PPK for the jumpoff site to my blog (and the PPK is there only because my vegan poached egg has apparently spawned its own discussion there...). No need to close comments on any of your posts, IMO.

I am in total agreement with Zoa, you are the number 1 referring site for me too (Thanks!!)! I thought your meals looked really good today. I thought that you got the same brand of stuffed grape leaves as me? The ones I get are good, and 9 times out of 10 not too sour ;)

well, you didn't turn off the comments to your older posts, Shen.

So I'm commenting on today's post no matter what. HA.

I also didn't have time for lunch today (I actually never do. I just eat a banana or an apple on the go) but you made up for it with the cinnamon toast again! (darn you and your tasty cinnamon toast).

Hey Shen, that Heather is/was an awful bitch, but that Asian lady was also SO WHINY AND NEUROTIC I almost couldn't blame her for bullying her. I hate it when they get rid of the nuts, though. Makes everything so boring.

That all looks pretty great to me!!!
