Sunday, July 24th

Lunch was at Shoe's Cup & Cork Club where Mr. SV & I shared the Hummus appetizer $6.99 (that's Tomato Juice pooled around the Hummus).
My 'House Salad' -- Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pecans, Strawberries and Raspberry Vinaigrette. $5.99
Gardein Scallopini and Roasted Zucchini for dinner.
Nanaimo Bars for dessert. These are no-bake, so you can create a super rich dessert while the house stays cool. Make sure to press down the bottom layer really hard.
Tenure. It's what sh*tty professors are denied (and also a brand of Vodka that I copiously imbibed tonight).

The Nanaimo Bar looks amazing. You did an awesome job making these. I love the idea of not heating up the house.

Someone named Shoe has a cup and cork club eh? Sounds interesting. Not sure about the tomato juice pooling around the hummus, but hey, I'd try it at least once.

I'm usually not too interested in desserts, but I'm definitely going to check out the Nanaimo recipe...looks really good!

You used that recipe for the Naniamo bars and not Sarah Kramer's? Might as well just flip ahead to October and then just burn the damn calendar.

That's one yummy looking house salad! I love how they put tomato juice around the hummus, too.

Hey Now!!!

VaVa, thanks! This was my first Strawberries in Salad experience and it was positive.

Deb, they were labor intensive, that's for sure.

Michelle, I should've clarified, it was the juice from the diced tomato that was on the hummus.

Rose, yeah, horrible name for a restaurant, apparently it used to be a shoe repair shop that was restored.

FF, it was Sarah Kramer's recipe that I linked to --. June's recipe from the calendar. No need to set fire to anything.

Molly, yeah, the Hummus came out looking 'different' so I thought I should mention it was just from the diced Tomatoes on top and still tasted great.
