Saturday, March 9th

Tofu Scramble (with a big dollop of Four Fruit Jam) $9.95 at Le Pain Quotidien for breakfast. I think Grits or Potatoes would be more appropriate than Mesculun on the side, but this must be how the French do it, so props to them for keeping it real.
I got a pint of the Soup Du Jour, Sweet Potato, to go for lunch. Really great plus it came with yet more bread.
Grilled Chicken Salad from Roots for dinner.
These were the food decisions I made for myself today, including no dessert. I've certainly done worse.

I was so excited about the carrot cake yesterday I forgot to comment on the pizza! it definitely looks delicious and I'm not familiar with the photographer. I am kind of a spazz with that, I don't really know a lot about photographers... although I should totally start submitting pics to them.

Anyway, another win from LPQ!! The tofu scramble looks great and the bread and jam is a great accompaniment. Yes, potatoes would be an appropriate side but the greens are pretty. The soup sounds delicious and the chicken salad still looks great!

Tofu scramble looks delicious, as does the bread with jam.

I sure hope tomorrow you're headed to Warrenton to try some Bhakti Chai. ;)

Haha, we will see if i ever put together a blog...
Great day of food here! I love that LPQ always has a vegan soup- i even had a "cream" of broccoli there once, a good chunk of bread to dip is critical to any soup meal.
I'm kinda wondering what happened to the other half of that cookie..... Maybe mr sv helped you out.

Everything looks delicious, especially the tofu scramble, that's one my favourites. I might have to make some sweet potato soup too, just what I need today as it's grey and raining outside!

Tofu scramble with greens sounds like a great combination to me. That restaurant really delivers!

Has all the snow melted by you now?

Wow, breakfast looks great. I guess they know their bread is amazing so they let that be the highlight starch of the meal, rather than potatoes or whatever.
Gorgeous soup too. I wish I could eat there more often but it's really too pricey for just a midday lunch. I guess the dollar goes farther in ole Vinginny.

Hey Now!!!!

VaVa, so you don't have photographers that you follow/revere? Yes, the good thing about vegan grub is that it lasts longer than non-vegan grub.

Ingrid, someone has their MoJo back! You called it 100% correct. After lunch, I went to the store that is supposed to have the Bhakti Chai and they never heard of it. Such a let down. They said they would order it, but I didn't want to be a bother.

Unknown, Mr. SV consumed the other half of the PB Cookie and the Double Fudge Chocolate Cake. Desserts with Chocolate are not safe from him. Do you want me to blog for you? Just email me the pics and I'll post them with the appropriate comments.

UL, woohoo! A new commenter! Sorry you have to make your own SP soup and can't just buy it like I did.

RVs, we still have a little bit of snow on the ground, but methinks spring is here now. Should hit your area in a couple weeks.

FF, what we make up for in the cost of living down here is that we don't really enjoy living so much.
