Saturday, March 2nd

Mr. SV had to drop off his bike in Elkridge, Maryland to get it serviced, so I followed him in my car to drive him home...
and also so I could eat at Great Sage en route back. My 'Caramel Apple Martini' $8 (American Harvest Vodka, Apple Cider, Caramel and Spices) made the several hour trek all worthwhile...
Spinach & Artichoke Dip Appetizer $10.  So fantastic.
The Open-Faced Roast Beef Sandwich with Gravy & Mashed Potatoes $14 was just so so. I wont get that again.
Caramel Pudding with Soy Whip and Vanilla Cookie for dessert $3. It was called a 'taste', but I thought it was a really sizable portion. Several other desserts were bought to go as well.
After lunch, I did a little shopping at Roots and got a Lavender Kombucha for the ride home. No more eating for the rest of the day.
Mr. SV's lunch included the 'Hot White Russian' $9 (American Harvest Vodka and Kalhua with Steamed Soy Milk)...
Potato Samosas $10...
Green Lentil and Butternut Squash Burger $13...
and Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Soy Milk Ice Cream $7.
Back at the barn, the Chickens were stymied by the size and toughness of Mr. SV's bun from lunch.
I finally had to tear it up into tiny pieces to feed it to them.
Luscious Donovan was the only cat I could get semi in focus.
Will I get my butt to LPQ tomorrow? That is my intent.

Best Saturday post yet! Love the action shot of Mr. SV, and the fact that you were able to indulge at Great Sage! I checked out their menu, and there has to be more than spinach, artichokes, and vegan parm in there. Any ideas?

The dessert looks delicious, and I can't wait to see what else you brought home!

Chickens! I've been wondering about them, and they look so cute. Oh, Donovan - I want to cuddle him!

Now that is a beautiful beverage!! I can barely look at a white russian-vegan or not- due to a, um, incident waaaaaayyyy back in high school. That roast beef sandwich looks so saucy, too bad it wasnt thrilling. Carmel pudding is always a good idea.
The kitty pic is so adorable- i feel like i can see a bit of personality in there.

LPQ is always a good idea- i once went and just ordered coffee and the bread basket so i could take advantage of the jam and nut butter situation.

What kind of bike do you & Mr. SV have? We used to have a Harley and I kind of miss it.

Great Sage looks SO fantastic. Everything you and Mr. SV got look terrific. Definitely worth the trek.

I just can't get over how adorable the chickens are, and Donovan is quite handsome!

So much to comment on in this post!! I agree with Ingrid, this is your best Saturday post yet!! How cool that Mr. SV has a bike! Do you ride too? I would be way too scared to get on a motorcycle!

That meal looks AMAZING!! Both drinks look incredible but I'd have a hard time stomaching a white russian too. It's more of a kalhua thing for me though ;) Anyway, the both look tasty!

Sorry your sandwich didn't taste great, it looks so good! The greens look good too, nice and vibrant. Mr. SV's burger looks phenomenal, how did he like it? I'm definitely going to check out the menu and see what I'm missing. Both desserts look great, can't wait to see what you brought home too.

Such an adorable crew you have. LOVE that pic of Donovan, he is so handsome!!

Oooh I hope you get to LPQ so I can once again live vicariously through you!

This is all so very exciting. So mr. SV DOES exist. Unless you just took a photo of a random person on the road and then ate both those lunches on yr own.
And how do we know those chickens aren't holograms??

Hey Now!!!!

Ingrid, methinks there might be some Vegenaisse in that Spinach & Artichoke Dip. It is a crock of heaven that is for sure.

Unknown, so glad my high school incident wasn't with White Russians. The LPQ Bread Basket has already been duly noted.

RVs, the bike in the pic is a Ducati Multi Strada, but Mr. SV also has a Harley as well as several other European bikes. He is into bikes like I'm into Fuzzies.

VaVa, I have never heard of anyone having a problem with Kalhua. That is a million times worse than having problems with Olives and Peppers. It is COFFEE Liqueur! (In case you didn't know). Anyway, Mr. SV's Burger was a hit. He ordered right.

FF, I know! I know! It's totally unfair that I dont post pics of myself and Mr. SV while everyone else (except Unknown, ahem!) just splashes themselves across the internets. I'm working on it.
