Thursday, November 22nd

Kashi Cinnamon Harvest Cereal and Almond Milk for breakfast.
Thanksgiving Supper was the AYCE Buffet $45/pp at Normandie Farm. I had a lot of Hummus and Bread...
as well as Hearts of Palm, Mushrooms a la Grecque and Artichokes. My mother was discussing with one of her friends the difficulty of my veganism combined with Thanksgiving. My mother's friend asked why I couldn't just stop being vegan for the day. Even my mother had to admit that sounded pretty stupid.
The last of the TJ's Turkey-less Stuffed Roast and a Baked Potato for dinner.
It was a good food day, but I am thankful Thanksgiving is over.

We're thankful it's over, too.

Looks like you had a lovely day, at least, other than that stupid comment. Stop being vegan for a day? WTF?

I feel like Thanksgiving turns into a really stressful day for most people, especially those hosting. I also think that the meaning of Thanksgiving gets lost a lot and replaced with what crap they are going to buy on black Friday.

The food looks great, the comment was stupid and ignorant. I don't understand how people just don't think sometimes. At least your mom recognized the silliness of it too!

Strange when people ask to 'stop for a day', good on your Mum, and your dinner sounds yummy!

The food sounds interesting. It's been a while since I've had hearts of palm...fun little things to cook and eat though.

That stop-being-vegan-for-a-day person is just plain silly. The holidays have been high-jacked by commercialism and brain-washing.

We like to stay in our own little bubble and just not pay attention to all the stupid "gobble gobble" comments and all the black friday hype; it's a trick anyway.

Have a great weekend Shen!

Hey Now!!!!

Molly, ironically, my mother would love for me to stop being vegan so we could go to more restaurants together.

VaVa, agreed. The cost of going out to eat yesterday was actually payment to avoid having to host the family at one of our houses.

Alessandra, I'm sure I've been non-vegan unintentionally many times over the past few years. To be intentionally non-vegan is where it get's too complicated for me.

Rose, you need to post how you celebrated so we can all learn and follow your example! Did you get a camera yet?
