Saturday, July 30th

My first Green Monster today from The Common Market $4.99

Lunch was at The Orchard. Mr SV & I both started with a cup of the Curried Vegetable Lentil Soup $3.50

and I had the Fried Tofu & Hummus Sandwich $9.50

Tonight's Vodka was mixed with Cranberry Pomegranate Juice.

Pistachios for dinner.

Nanaimo Bar for dessert.

Methinks I ingested quite a few thousand calories today.

Friday, July 29th

Lunch was at Brio. The 'Citrus Garden Salad' $9.95 Fresh Linguine tossed with Spinach, Peppers, Carrots, Scallions, Basil, Cilantro, Dried Cranberries, Slivered Almonds, Lemon Vinaigrette and topped with a spicy citrus glaze.

Tofurky Kielbasa and Zucchini Pancakes for dinner.

Coconut Mini Sandwich with heavy freezer burn for dessert (which explains the strange cropping).

Vodka etc.

Thursday, July 28th

Hawaiian Burger (Soy Patty with Mushroom, Pineapple, Onion & Teriyaki Sauce) with Fries $9.95 from Loving Hut for lunch. Sounds like a weird combo, but it was excellent.

A bowl of Mom's Navy Bean Soup for dinner.

Cookie Dough Ice Cream for dessert.

An Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and a Yellow Tiger Swallowtail were hanging out on the Phlox a long time this afternoon, so I thought I'd do the nature pic thing.

The Yellow Tiger Swallowtail was extremely cooperative.

Unlike the olden days when you had 32 frames per roll of film. I can literally post 100's pics of these if I want to.

So leave a comment or else I'm posting a couple hundred more of these.

WTF Wednesday

Lunch was a bunch of organic Plums (you think I'd let my daughter lick pesticides off fruit?)

Nanaimo Bars for dessert. (These are the bars from Sarah Kramer's 2011 Calender, month of June). The bottom layer came out too crumbly. Still quite palatable.

This was a pretty good, but unexciting food day. Spicy Asian Noodles from Whole Food's Salad Bar (plus some Edamame/Rice mix).

Sunday, July 24th

Lunch was at Shoe's Cup & Cork Club where Mr. SV & I shared the Hummus appetizer $6.99 (that's Tomato Juice pooled around the Hummus).

My 'House Salad' -- Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pecans, Strawberries and Raspberry Vinaigrette. $5.99

Gardein Scallopini and Roasted Zucchini for dinner.

Nanaimo Bars for dessert. These are no-bake, so you can create a super rich dessert while the house stays cool. Make sure to press down the bottom layer really hard.

Tenure. It's what sh*tty professors are denied (and also a brand of Vodka that I copiously imbibed tonight).

Saturday, July 23rd

Lunch was at Haute Dogs and Fries. One more Groupon to use before August 9th. Life is rough.

Many pretty Fries were devoured.

Yves Salami Sandwich for dinner.

I found some Vegan Chocolate Syrup a while back and opened it tonight.

Made a simple 'sundae' for dessert with chopped Almonds. Needed waaaay more syrup. Should probably just guzzle the chocolate syrup straight out of the bottle.

Speaking of guzzling, yesterday, Rose questioned the old Vodka ties that bind. Cut to tonight -- a bottle of "Tenure". A horrible name for a Polish Vodka that comes in a fancy bottle, and, most importantly, was on sale for $23.95. I'm happy to report that Tenure works just as well as the Stoli. Thanks for helping me stretch my horizons, Rose!

Friday, July 22nd

Lunch was a big bowl of very delicious Cherries (I took off work today to enjoy the 115 degree heat index).

As part of my vacation, I shopped at Big Lots for the first time in several months and scored some interesting bargains.

Mr. SV brought home carryout for dinner from Sunflower-'Curry Supreme' (Chunks of Soy Protein served with Broccoli, Potatoes, Mushrooms, Carrots and Green Peas in a special Japanese Curry Sauce).

Next to last slice of the WF's Blueberry Pie for dessert.

Stoli. I'm practically pickling myself in this stuff so it's really working out well.

Tried to hit the spot with some Veggie Pirate Booty, but to no avail.

Magical Coconut Cookie Bar didn't hit the spot either so I just gave up.

So the spot didn't get hit today. No big woop. Stoli helped.
