Thursday, August 7th

Perhaps LPQ has spoiled me for all Tofu Scrambles. This morning I had some of WF's Tofu Scramble that I had carried out from their breakfast bar last weekend. On the side were some Field Roast Breakfast Sausages that I also found at Whole Foods....
IMO, the Tofu Scramble I make at home with the Fantastic Foods Box Mix is better than this...
Another fail at lunch. Dopey me was so excited when I saw these Olives on the Wegmans' Mediterranean Bar. I thought they were stuffed with Pimientos...
Joke was on me. The Olives were stuffed with tiny scorching hot Peppers. Below were the Peppers I left behind after my unpleasant discovery....
At least the rest of the day was great. WF's Herb Crusted Tofu with Roasted Squash for dinner...
The other half of my WF's Cranberry Muffin for dessert...
Lunch with mom tomorrow. Bye for now.

Too bad about the scramble although I would see how all scrambles would be disappointing compared to the LPQ scramble. Yikes!! I can imagine how unpleasant the pepper discovery must have been! They say the smaller the peppers the hotter it is and those are some tiny peppers! At least the rest of the day made up for it.

I have been buying the peaches hard and letting them ripen on the counter for a day or two. Mostly because I haven't come across ripe organic peaches in the store. Now I really have to try the Ma Po tofu!

Re: Native Foods! I'm glad you are on the mailing list, and I bet if you ask someone about the inability to get to a location, they'll get you one when they open!

Yikes! Hot peppers in your olives is not a pleasant surprise. I'm glad your mouth could still enjoy a delicious tofu and squash dinner.

Italian.

Oh no! I would have thought those were peppers too. They didn't label them?
maybe the problem with the scramble was more that it was a week old?
Is the cranberry muffin sweet at all? I imagine it like a cornbread muffin with the tart berries

WTF WF??? Not cool that a quasi-french chain makes a better fu scramble than yuppie hippie headquarters... Shame on them.
And who puts crazy hot tiny peppers in olives?! Not funny...
Maybe WF can pick up LPQs muffin slack.

Nyc will still have good coffee when you do make it here :) and more and more places have soy and almond milk!

Hey Now!!!!!

Sarah, first you got me trying the macerated Strawberries, might as well risk buying a Peach or two next. I will blame you if the Peaches are bad.

Ingrid, I am thinking the Natve Foods in DC will not be all Peace and lLove like the Colorado locations. You nailed it: Italian!

FF, I looked for a label on the Olive Bar but didnt see anything that looked related to these Olives. Might as well have just bought the ones stuffed with Jalaenos or Garlic. Such a waste. Dont go taking the Scramble's side, I'm telling you it was bunk from Day One! The Cranberry Muffin, unlike the Scramble, totally ruled. Very moist traditional Muffin with beautiful tart Cranberries interspersed throughout.

Unknown, 'quasi-french'!? Mais Non! LPQ est tres Francais! I was totally bummed about the Olives. They were so cool looking. I need to make sure I miss nothing on my next NYC visit.
