Sunday, August 17th

Mr. SVegetarian to the Tofu Scramble rescue! Although the dish is not on Harrimans's website menu, Mr. SVegetarian called them this morning to see if they could still make it. As the below picture indicates, they can! Very good to have it again after a few months. Service has improved as well....
plus they had one of my favorite flowers, Bells Of Ireland, on the tables, so it must be a sign that there is life after LPQ (although there is still some LPQ Gazpacho in my fridge, so my LPQ life isn't over yet)....
A cool looking Heirloom Tomato I bought at WFs on Saturday....
Tonight I tried Tomato Sandwiches with Earth Balance instead of Mayo. I think I prefer Mayo...
TJ's Chocolate Coconut Milk Frozen Dessert with an Uncle Eddies Vegan CC Cookie for dessert..
Back to the usual for the rest of the week. Bye for now.

Harriman's to the rescue!! The scramble does look really delicious and definitely is an excellent brunch option in your Post LPQ life. And the improvement in service was a bonus too! The tomato sandwich looks really good, I'm curious about the combo with the EB. The tomatoes look amazing!

Glad to know that Harriman's could do what LPQ could not: tofu. Maybe we should send LPQ a list of local restaurant vendors who carry it. ;)

Earth Balance is good on warm bread or baked potatoes.

Beautiful flower, hilarious tomato, tofu scramble. Looks like life is pretty ok.
Do you think if you asked LPQ in advance they'd also be able to make it? Will you go back for the lentil salads? Pastries??

(((Whew))) that was a close call- you nearly had a scramble free weekend!! We should all send LPQ hate mail accusing them of anti-veg*n practices.
The EB on tomato sandwich might work better with toasted bread....? Gorgeous tomato. Uncle eddie and TJs should collaborate for ice cream sandwiches.

Yes, my CA visits are really great. I've been promised a backyard full of tomatoes, figs, persimmons, cilantro, kale, and others i'm forgetting....and of course visits with the furry and fur free members of my family :)

Hey Now!!!!!!

Sarah, the only minus about Harrimans is that you really dont see any solo diners there. LPQ is good at not making single eaters feel like freaks. (I usually go to LPQ alone, as Mr. SV isnt a big fan). This will definitely force me to branch out.

Ingrid, that would be a very short list of local rstaurants with Tofu Scramble. I can only think of four or five. D.C. aint Denver.

FF, Asking for anything special at all in a restaurant is not my M.O.. i dont want to annoy people handling my food. I am sure that I will get to LPQ again for carryout, but only if I am within walking distance from some other errand. Same as you do, right?

Unknown, Ha! you know well that one thing we cant accuse LPQ of it being anti-vegan. Dont think they would fall for that line. Are both your parents avid gardeners? I remember it was Xmas now cuz you advised me on the Glogg front. and made Gingerbread Cupcakes. What is done to celebrate August?
