Sunday, September 2nd

Slept in again, so first meal was at my favorite restaurant: Loving Hut. This week the Washington Post reviewed the restaurant and 'they' wrote that the menu includes " 'a crispy burger' that can be made with a substitute for either chicken or beef. Skip the latter; the region is brimming with veggie burgers less bogged down with oil." I'm assuming that the writer meant to skip the Beef Crispy Burger, not the Chicken, because the Chicken Crispy Burger is the most delicious thing in the whole world.
Anyway, opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. Here is one more from me: Soupergirl makes better soup than other local soup purveyor: 100 Bowls of Soup. I say this because dinner was the Zucchini Basil Soup from '100 Bowls' and I was unimpressed to say the least.
Still trying to get over my sugar overdose from last night, so that was all I ate today (plus some Vodka in celebration of the holiday). Coming up tomorrow: Not dragging Mr. SV out to lunch. He has suffered enough (for now).

Didn't the Post also say that somewhere near you was the best vegan hot dog around - and it was a Tofu Pup? I think we safely say that the need to find a new Veg Restaurant writer. Again, I nominate you. Maybe, I'll just forward them a link to your blog. . .

That's too bad about the zucchini basil soup. That soupscription from your previous posts looks awesome though!

Zucchini soup sounds like it could be kind of hit or miss, but they certainly are giving you soups I haven't otherwise seen around.
The crispy chicken sandwich does look pretty perfect. It's been a long time since I've had a not-chicken burger, maybe never a vegan one.

Ooooh that crispy sandwich seriously looks better every single time. And I don't even know how that is possible! The fries look great too. Bummer that the soup wasn't great but I'm sure the vodka made up for it ;) Totally a suitable dessert!

Hey Now!!!

Ingrid, I appreciate the compliment, but I think I must enjoy flying below the radar since that's how I always operate. Armchair Vegan Quarterback.

GFTYummy, a few bowls and I suddenly feel qualified to judge soup. Go figure.

Mary, the Soupscription seems to have been a positive in my life.

FF, the faux chicken burger is new to me as well. They'll probably take it off the menu since I love it so much.

VaVa, you're the one who got me hooked on Vodka. Thanks for that!

I agree with Ingrid- you need to become their restaurant writer. That chicken sandwich looks quite nice.
