Sunday, September 23rd

Lunch was enjoyed on the charming backyard patio at Mellow Moods Juice Bar. Mr. SV & I both started with a cup of Butternut Squash Soup...
I had the Tempeh & Avocado Reuben $7.95
Then I combined both of our Side Salads on to one plate to finish.
Alas, my month long Soupergirl Soupscription has ended. The finale was Red Pepper Soup. The Soupscription was fun and tasty, but without a Groupon, way too expensive for me.
It's been open for two years, but today was my first visit to A Better Choice Bakery (there was a woman out front unrelated to the bakery selling gorgeous produce from a sustainable farm).
Of the vegan desserts the bakery owner was pointing out, I heard the words "Fudge" and "Pretzels" related to this one. Can't go wrong with that combo, so I bought four of these in addition to a 'Pecan Sandie' and 'Carrot Cake Blondie'.
So there is some new stuff. Back to the same old tomorrow.

The new bakery sounds great! Fudge & pretzels is definitely a great combo.

You had a really great weekend of food, I must say.

Oh, and no, fried pickles aren't my thing. :)

Sounds like some great goodies from the bakery. Fudge and pretzels definitely would have been one of my choices!

I am thoroughly enjoying your meals today; very balanced and beautiful. I was just thinking it is about time to start making homemade soup - suppose you'll have to now that the Groupon has ended.

Fairly certain I am the only person who doesn't like chocolate and pretzels, but I believe you when you say it was good.

I am quite uneducated when it comes to chickens, so are you trying to say that the baby chicks you picked a few months ago are now those huge ones from yesterday?!?

Straight to dessert as usual, omg that pretzel chocolate dessert sounds amazing! I can totally understand why you'd stock up on it! The carrot cake blondie also sounds delicious!

Back to your other meals, the soup at lunch looks so thick and creamy, it looks delicious! The sandwich looks great too! I really need to start making some yummy soups now that it's getting chilly.

The backyard patio looks like a beautiful place to dine outside. It's also nice to see another vegan bakery. That fudge / pretzel "thingie" looks quite delish.

Hey Now!!!

Molly, sorry to hear you aren't a 'Frickle' fan. They're relatively new to this area and Mr. SV & I think they're fantastic.

Mary, now that you're no longer cleansing, you are finally free to indulge. Yay!

Ingrid, first Molly says she doesn't like Fried Pickles and now you don't like Chocolate Covered Pretzels?! What is up my readers?! You are all missing out so bad. Unfortunately, of the Baby Chicks from summer, only one survived and it is a Bantam Chicken. Not a big Chicken like from Saturday's pics.

VaVa, you don't seem to be doing as much cooking or baking as you used to.

FF, there has been a lot of Soup in my life lately. Definitely need to slow it down a little.

Miss Rachel, I know you and Sweetie enjoy dining Al Fresco as well. Yes, it was a delicious Thingie.
