Venti Iced Soy Chai Tea Latte for breakfast...
The Crispy Burger at Loving Hut for lunch. Best 'Chicken' Sandwich ever. Bar none.
What do you have for dinner after all that greatness? There's nothing that could suffice. So I just cut up a bunch of vegetables that have been laying around -- Tomatoes, Potatoes, Broccoli, Onion, Garbanzos and Soy Curls and tossed them in a pot for a half hour. Pretty blah.
While at Loving Hut, the dessert delivery from Vegan Treats arrived. Mr. SV & I got to converse with the truck driver (it was like a celebrity sighting) and he could not have been more down-to-earth and personable. About 20 boxes of incredible desserts had been stacked up in the restaurant and we were trying to decide what to get. The Driver enthusiastically recommended a Cannoli: something I never in a million years would have picked. Only had it once and just thought it was like lousy dry Cheesecake in an annoying hard crust. The design was a big of a turn-off as well. Well, Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! The filling was creamy! The crust was light and sugary! It was so tidy to eat with my fingers! Thanks for the great advice, Delivery Guy! Today, you created a Cannoli Convert.
Coming up tomorrow: Another great lunch out is planned.

OK this is a seriously amazing a perfect food day! So perfect for a Friday! I never got to drink my chai the other night with my friend because their syrup contains milk derivative (I've never had one there before) so I'm still craving one! Maybe this weekend.

That sandwich seriously sounds amazing. Damn gluten! I think your dinner looks great, you definitely don't give yourself enough credit!

That's so cool about the delivery guy! It's great that you got a good tip from him too and that you enjoyed the cannoli! It looks so yummy!

I love dinners like that - empty the fridge and saute 'em up -- so tasty and healthy!
And oh. my. gosh. that cannoli sounds remarkable!! I'm not usually a cannoli gal, especially now, but that just looks awesome! Yay Delivery Guy!

Applause on your food choices and sightings for the day. I haven't had a Starbucks Chai in awhile, thanks for the reminder.

I concur that it appears to be the Best. 'Chicken' Sandwich. Ever. I am jealous! :)

I did laugh aloud when I read your "celebrity sighting". It would have been better, had he been offering samples of each of the boxes. The Cannoli looks spectacular - I hope you picked up another one!

Going to have to try that latte! I usually get a ice coffee with soy milk.

What a fortuitous meeting. That cannoli looks super.

What are soy curls?

Hey Now!!!!

VaVa, my aspirations to be gluten free will be forever thwarted by this sandwich.

GFHTummy, just stay non-Cannoli. Pretend you never read this post (even though NYC is pretty much a Cannoli mecca).

Ingrid, what a great idea. That never crossed my mind, but Vegan Treats should definitely offer free samples from the delivery truck. I'll stock up on the Cannoli next time we go to Loving Hut.

Mary, you are in for a happy surprise if you've never had a Iced Chai Tea Latte at Starbucks. After your cleanse, of course.

Miss Rachel, Soy Curls are dehydrated pieces of Soy Protein made by Butler. Have to be ordered online.

I read your vegan treats truck sighting account like it was a riveting novel, hanging onto every word. Did u take your picture with the truck? I would have.

Ha! I didn't think to take a pic next to the truck. I was feeling kinda foolish after asking him what was in the box labeled 'Comdi'. I couldn't read the word 'Cannoli'. Der.

I would have been excited to find out what this new concoction Comdi was, as well. Hey, it happens.
