Thursday, April 24th

Lots of carbs and Trader Joe's today. A Wegman's toasted Everything Bagel with Everything Knocked Off So It Is Pretty Much a Plain Bagel, TJ's Vegan Cream Cheese and freshly diced Scallions for breakfast....
Field Roast Frankfurters with TJ's Tots for lunch...
Mr. SVegetarian made Penne Pasta with Paul Sorvino's Arrabiatta Sauce, Smart Ground and TJ's Meatless Meatballs for dinner...
Eleven TJ's Dark Chocolate Almonds for dessert....
My usual Friday lunch with Mom has been pushed out to Saturday, but I anticipate getting out somewhere for lunch tomorrow. Bye for now.

How is the Smart Ground? Better than the other brands? Take those TJ Meatless Meatballs one ball at a time. Possible extinction on the way, right? ;)

Challenge accepted: you'll pick up Ethiopian for lunch tomorrow.

I've told you before about how my first trip to Washington DC in 2007 to vote in Australia's compulsory federal elections at the Embassy involved a night in a hotel room where I ate an entire tub of those turbinado almonds so I shan't tell it again. Except...

Your poor everythingless bagel! Looks like some good scallion action inside though.
I have yet to find a meatless ball replacement.....my own fall apart or taste too bean-y, or other brands have been too chewy/hard/bouncey or crazy like $7 for a bag.
Great when the Mr cooks! Maybe he will make meatless balls.
Those almonds look like oblong truffles.

Your breakfast has inspired me! I just found out that a local bagel chain has tofu cream cheese now (plain, scallion and veggie I believe) so I'm going to have to go and get an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese :) You still had a little bit of the topping? You could mix the topping that fell off into the cream cheese? I don't know why everything has a ? Every time I see tots I think of Napolean Dynamite shoving them in his pockets with the zippers. Lucky you having a lovely dinner prepared for you by Mr. SV!

Haha I know that sad feeling when only the scent of onion is left on the "everything" bagel.
Do you cut the franks up into tiny pieces and eat em with a fork?

I shouldn't look at food blogs when I'm hungry and on a diet. Have a good weekend, Chickie!

Hey Now!!!! SEVEN COMMENTS ON THIS LOUSY POST???? You peeps are weird. But I guess that's why I like you.

Ingrid, the Smart Ground is good. Got it on sale for $2.50/package and it's easier to work with than frozen Boca Crumbles. Yes, the TJ's Meatless Meatballs are going the way of the dinosaurs, but I have a bag of Gardein waiting patiently in the freezer. I'd have to drive pretty darn far to get some Ethiopian grub (although, I have been thinking about it, so good mind meld there).

Hannah, yes, you have told me about that trip to vote in the Australian elections. Also, how you couldn't find out who won. I've OD'ed on these Almonds at work at few times, so I feel your pain.

Unknown, have you tried the Gardein Meatless Meat Balls yet? No way I or Mr. SV would ever try making them. Nates Brand is always good enuf if it comes to that. The Almond pic did come out surprisingly well.

Sarah, if only Tofu Cream Cheese would come to DC area bagel shops, but so far, I know of none. Please post a pic of your Bagel on your blog. Absolutely, I always think of Napolean Dynamite when I eat Tots as well. That was a waste of good Tots.

FF, good table manners dictate not cutting up all your food before eating, rather to cut and bite one piece of food at a time. But your family doesn't use bread plates so god only knows what else you were taught.

Jared, I stockpile food. With the TJ's Meatless Meatballs, my stockpiling finally paid off.

Jenny, 'Chickie'? You can take the girl out of Arkansas, but you can't take Arkansas out of the girl.
