WTF Tuesday

Almost all Roots all day. Might as well change my name to 'Questlove'. Same breakfast as yesterday...
Split Pea Soup for lunch...
Really fantastic Soup. Tasted sweet, but I don't see any sugar in the ingredients...
Sloppy Joes on TJ's WW Hamburger Buns with Oven Fries for dinner. Potatoes are a root vegetable (actually a tuber, but same diff)...
A Chocolate Chip Muffin for dessert...
Super moist. You would never guess it wasn't fresh baked...
Bye for now...

Haaa! Dude, Questlove is great. You should definitely change yr name and see if Roots gives you any free swag in the form of food. musicians get free swag all the time!
I was a little confused about the "all roots all day" bit, though. I was trying to rationalize...Are peas a root vegetable?? Does pumpernickel come from a root vegetable??
But now I get it.
I'd like for a grocery to coordinate my meals too.

I've had a WF day, but I would love to try a Roots day! Oven Fries totally count! ;) Sloppy Joes. . .yum, I haven't had one in an age!

Great looking meals today, especially loving that muffin. It looks delicious. I'm a fan of split pea soup and yours looks nice and hearty. And of course the oven fries look great. I also appreciate the Questlove connection ;)

Great tuesday!! Also love the Questlove reference.... Split pea is hard to find a vegan version of, maybe the roasted onions and carrots are the sweetness you were tasting?
Your dinner potatoes are really imprressive-as is a now two day old vegan muffin that doesn't suck.

I think your animals cuddle with each other when no one is looking....;)

Everytime I make split pea soup people accuse me of putting sugar in it; I think it's the carrots as they break down during simmer. Your colorful food day has me jealous; I'll just keep my Nugo bar and potato chips over here.

PS I kept re-reading your hilarious comment but had to delete it for fear I would accidentally post!

Hey Now!!!!

FF, you sound like someone who has worked their way backstage at a few gigs. if only the Roots were on Kimmel's show instead. We prefer Kimmel to Fallon. How did humans survive before grocery stores started preparing meals-to-go?

Ingrid, the Sloppy Joes were so delicious, they will be reappearing again next week (also cuz I have leftover Tomato Paste to use up).

Sarah, you New Yawkers know Questlove.

Unknown, I'm hoping it's the Onions and Carrots that made the Soup sweet. It's hard to find good Split Pea Soup. CPK's is good, but they never fill the container up full enough and I get POed. I've often thought of setting up some webcams to see what goes on here when Mr. SV & I are out.

Abby, I've never had sweet Split Pea Soup before. I like it that way. I did Potato Chips today and really wish I hadn't. Thanks for deleting that comment.

I love visiting your blog.
Most of my food is homemade since here in Martinsburg there isn't anything too spectacular (aside from the typical Habanero/Chipotle and Good Natured)...
You give me some great ideas as well as reminders of foods to eat or try!
Thanks. : D

Hi Bethany,

Thanks for the kinds words. I'm always wishful for more vegan choices in Martinsburg & Berkeley Springs. I don't know how far you're willing to drive, but Hempen Hill BBQ & Vegetarian's Pursuit Cafe (weekday's only) in Hagerstown are both good options. If you're willing to go to Greencastle, PA, this place looks interesting: http://www.pureandsimplelife.com/cafe/
