Sunday, April 20th

Brunch today at Mr. Noodle and Rice. I started with the 'Avocado Maki' $3.50 while Mr. SVegetarian enjoyed the 'Cucumber Maki' $3.50...
My 'Tofu BiBimBob' $9.25...
How exciting is this news? If all goes according to plan, little ole me is actually going to see Sean and Catherine in the flesh! Obviously, I will not do any heroin on that incredible day.
TJ's Crispy Tenders, Roasted Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes with Road's End Shitake Gravy for dinner...
This afternoon I finally did something I've been meaning to do for literally years: I made a Dump Cake...
First you spread a can of Crushed Pineapple in a cake pan. Top it with Cherry Pie Filling...
cover with Cake Mix, 1/2 Cup diced EB and 1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans....
bake at 350 degrees for almost an hour. While some of the Cake Mix didn't get absorbed...
and the first piece out of the pan didn't cooperate, it tasted really good (how could it not?). I could see serving it to folks warm out of the oven for breakfast (if one is ever in that sort of position to serve folks breakfast)...
Bye for now.

The dump cake looks great! Was it super sweet? I liked the step by step photos :) Your Easter brunch looked so good, that bibimbob looks amazing. Do I see sriracha drizzled all over the top? Dinner looks like a nice comfort meal.

The bibimbop does look great. I love each little segment of ingredients.
maybe I am just unfamiliar with The Bachelor, but I'm not sure I understand the heroin comment, ha!
I had roasted asparagus today too, but it might have been nicer with some shiitake gravy.

HA! Excellent news on both the Bachelor celebrities and heroin usage. I wonder if editors ever think about story positioning on the front page.

I've already finished my first bag of Crispy Tenders; thanks for the reminder to repurchase!

I would eat that Dump Cake any time of the day. Looks delicious!

P.S. Saw yesterday's post just now, and I commend you on your work with Mama U. My aunt and uncle have one cranky cat, named "Demon Child" appropriately because even though they rescued it from an oil barrel outside of a restaurant, she is one mean kitty. I tried to go in slowly, and ended up with scratches all over my hands. Luckily, said kitty lives in another state.

No hot stone bowl?! How would your bibimbap ever get the crusty rice bits and accidentally burn your hand? Looks delicious, although that's a whole lotta spicey....

I always wondered what the bachelor couples did after the fifteen minutes of fame wore off..... And unfortunately as philip seymor hoffman demonstrated heroin seems to be back as the "in" drug. I'm sticking to just the poppy seeds.

The dinner gravy sounds delicious and the asparagus looks amazing!

Love the dump cake play by play, was it worth the wait??

1. I have never heard of a dump cake before, but AMAZING.

2. What the heck is a grand marshall of a blossom festival?!

3. I can't believe they gave Sean's height in that article. Is that his greatest achievement? The height of his achievement, perhaps? LOLZ DAD JOKEZ

I've never heard of a dump cake either! Come to think of it, I've completed losing all affinity for cake-baking since finding Vegan Treats so many years ago ;-) The thought of having overnight guests makes me a bit ill.

Love your bibimbap...

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, the Dump Cake wasn't super sweet, it was kinda unique. Tasted like more effort than it was. It's not Sriracha, but a special BiBimBob Sauce on top. Different somehow. I guess we'll add BiBimBob to the list of things you need to do along with PF Changs and LPQ.

FF, the heroin comment refers to the article headline on the Winchester Star. Pay attention! This blog is not that complex.

Ingrid, I think the WInchester Star agenda setting is correct. Bachelor coming to town is way more important than heroin epidemic. I feel so guilty for assuming Marmalade Umlaut was a vicious feral cat. She just looks like angry but is a major love bug.

Unknown, hot stone bowl?! That must be when you eat really authentic Korean cuisine. Not many couples can say they were the Grand Marshals at a parade. It will be interesting to see if they stay together like Trista & Ryan. Dump Cake was not worth the wait, so if you plan to make one, do it now and get it over with right away.

Hannah, 1. It's the name that makes the Dump Cake so special 2. I have no idea what the Grand Marshal of a Blossom Festival is. I will let you know in two weeks. 3. Awww. Your Dad's humor sounds corny like an American Dad.

Abby, Vegan Treats can not be beat, but I had to see if dumping five ingredients in a pan would really work. It does.
