Friday, April 4th

Nature's Path Raisin Brain with Hemp Milk for breakfast...
Lunch was at La Sandia. As usual, we enjoyed the Guac made table side...
This pic of Chips & Salsa came out okay, so I'm posting it...
Caught a little buzz off the Margarita De La Casa....
There was only one waiter working today, hence the lack of salt on the Margarita and the cheese & sour cream showing up with the Market Vegetable Fajitas...
This article about Mark Bittman creating a vegan Salad for Sweetgreen aroused my sense of vegan duty. Dinner was the 'VB6 Salad' (Vegan Before 6pm) comprised of Quinoa & Farro, Arugula, Kale, Asparagus, Basil, Tofu, Carrots, Green & Red Peppers and Toasted Almonds. Topped with Carrot Chili Vinaigrette. Surprisingly delicious. Really enjoyed it. Unknown will love it...
A Root's Market Pecan Sandie for dessert...
Excellent grub on the agenda for tomorrow.

Which Sweetgreen did you go to?? In VA or DC? I think I really need to make it down to DC sometime soon. Will ask for recc's at that time, probably.
The salad sounds pretty good, the dressing especially. Hopefully some omnis will actually pick it up + it sticks around. The website seems to suggest it's only a monthly special.
I looked for the Uncle Eddie's again today in the same spot but they weren't there!!

Your Mexican lunches always look good. Then again, you don't get much better than fresh chips, guac and salsa washed down with a margarita. Although the dairy is annoying. Great looking salad too. I still need to figure out that recipe for pecan sandies for you :X

What will brunch bring tomorrow? I guess I'll have to stay tuned and find out!

No salt on the margarita?!? That's just.....wrong. At least they aren't generous with the cheese on those beans! Ha! Easier to scrape off...

That salad sounds AWESOME!! There is a second sweetgreens location opening in nyc in tribeca in a month or two. It sounds like a delicious combo. I am so naive as to belive that every time any one eats a vegan meal that's a step in the right direction, and with bittman's endorsement i think many omnis are more open to the idea.

The fajitas look so fresh, and the Sweetgreen salad looks so amazing! It sounded reproducible until the dressing. . .

Enjoy your Saturday!

Hey Now!!!!

FF, if you can avoid going to D.C., I would advise doing so. You are so lucky to be in Manhattan/Queens you have no idea. I was at the VA Sweetgreen, but you can go to one exactly like it in NYC. I bought a bag of Uncle Eddie's Oatmeal CC Cookies today. My first time with this flavor.

Sarah, you can hold off on the Pecan Sandie recipe. I still have one Cookie left and I might be over them for a while.

Unknown, I thought of you when I saw that salt-free Margarita arrive at the table. You had better support your pal Mark's Salad creation. It's only for the month of April.

Hannah, if you keep galavanting around the globe, you're gonna begin missing stuff all the time.

Ingrid, definitely not a reproducible Salad even before the dressing. Enjoy your one last day of vacation!
