Friday, April 11th

A .99 'Day Old' Blueberry Muffin from Root's Market for breakfast. Not many Blueberries, but I'm used to that. This time the overall Muffin was awesome enough to make up for the Blueberry shortfall...
After trying out Chop't and Sweetgreen recently, I thought I'd see how Freshii would stack up. The 'Superbiotic' $7.99 + .49 for the Tofu was my unit of measurement. Garbanzo Beans, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Corn, Artichoke Hearts, Roasted Red Peppers and Red Onion, served atop Spinach and Romaine with Balsamic Vinaigrette. My verdict: this Salad was sort of tasteless. Chop't and Sweetgreen are much better....
The good thing about eating a light lunch is that you can really binge at dinner...
Since everyone thought my dessert last night was so great, I had it again tonight. Everyone was right, this is a great dessert. Everyone should eat this every night...
Bye for now...

The salad does look a little plain..but it's nice that they had a good selection of stuff to pick from. Roasted red peppers and corn are nice choices. Is the tofu just raw on top?
That does look like a pretty good muffin. Perhaps the lack of blueberries could be helped with some blueberry jam on top? Or even Earth Balance?
Guess what I'm trying to say, is make yr breakfast more like my breakfast!

I have a friend that got me on that dessert too! If you do it up all fancy like you can serve it to guests ;-) Very avant garde.

The muffin does look fresh but definitely on par with WFs with the amount of blueberries. Although theirs are on the bottom while the WFs ones float around on top... That is really too bad that a salad with such delicious ingredients lacks flavor. It definitely sounds amazing in theory though. PB and chocolate is always good in theory and execution.

When I eat a tasteless salad, I just remind myself that I've hit my nutrient requirements for the day, and feel proud. And also have dessert. Speaking of which - I approve of the spoonful dessert. Perfection!

Does freshii measure that sad tofu with a tablespoon??? Looks nice and colorful but even in pricey nyc i can get a better looking salad.... I think that would have left me hungry in an hour or so.
Your dinner fries are a masterpiece! I am always impressed by them. Do you not like sweet potatoes? Sweet potato fries are wonderful.
I will have to get some chocolate chips, i have too much nut butter (including some nutzzo!!) that needs to become dessert.

Maybe i should get sidewalk chalk and write mason a note.... Although i did stop a gorgeous golden retriever today to say hello- he was rather anxious with a not especially amused dad.

Hey Now!!!!

FF, the Tofu did seem raw, but since nothing really tasted like anything, I can't be sure. Using Earth Balance as a spread is way too decadent for me. I did try your Apricot Jam/Tahini combo not so long ago. I deserve credit there.

Abby, interesting idea! Like when they serve one-bite appetizers on Top Chef on those china spoons.

Sarah, it is not nice of WFs the way they trick you with all the Blueberries on top of the Muffin but not inside. It is hard to fail with PB & Chocolate.

Ingrid, tasteless Salad is better than bad-tasting Salad, but both are a waste of a meal. I more than made up for it though.

Unknown, it was a tiny bit of Tofu, but for 49 cents, I can't complain. I do like Sweet Potato Fries, but they aren't as simple to make as regular and you know I'm all about the simple. How do you like the Nuttzo? Think it's worth the $$? Do folks leave chalk notes on the sidewalks? That would be so cool.

Alessandra, the dessert is a spoonful of Peanut Butter with Carob Chips sprinkled on top. American children love this treat and it's often eaten at slumber parties.
