WTF Wednesday

Sarah Kramers Banana Pancakes with TJ's Maple Syrup for breakfast...
Hummus and (lots of) Pickles on a Just Bagels Everything Bagel for lunch...
Dinner was carryout from The Randy Radish. There was apparently a communication snafu. I'd written 'Risotto' on my order slip, but came home with 'Organic Quinoa Avocado Salad' $5 instead. Rainbow Quinoa, Black Beans, Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, Red Onions, Cilantro and Avocado combined with a light Lemony Dressing. Served on a bed of Organic Greens and garnished with Sliced Almonds and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds...
Because I was expecting Risotto for dinner, I'd roasted up my Reading Terminal Brussels Sprouts to enjoy on the side. Oh well...
'Key Lime Dream '$4 from The Randy Radish for dessert. This order was filled correctly...
100% completely different grub tomorrow.

Ooooh another incredible food day!! Your pickle tower on the hummus and bagel combo is a glorious masterpiece. It looks like dinner would be a happy mistake!! The dish looks great but I could understand looking forward to the risotto though. The brussels look perfectly yummy and that key lime pie needs to be in my belly!

Was it a good snafu for dinner? It certainly looks good.

Too bad about the missing risotto. That always makes me sad and stressed out and is a big part of the reason I don't eat out more, ha. Was it still good? What was in the risotto?
I understand if it's too painful to speak of.

You have been selecting some seriously delicious food as of late. I love it all. As I am enjoying the last of my summer produce, I am happily reminded that brussel sprouts are here. Hooray! Vegan risotto has been on my "most wanted" list for a while. Please go back tomorrow, and eat it for me. ;)

The pickle piles are impressive on your bagel! Very marcel duchamp does lunch modern art vibe.
I guess you just had a whole lot of veggies wih dinner! I have a hard time believing any of randy radish's meals are subpar though.
The lime pie looks like a fluffy cloud of fabulous landed on your plate....

WOW amazing amount of pickles!

I would have loved to see how the risotto turned out. I have some in a box that I have to make, I just havent had the time.

Everytime I see the key lime pie, it makes me look for a vegan recipe for it but I can't find one I like.

hey Now!!!!

Sarah, I agree, I'm really doing great with the food lately. Love when I'm on a 'good food roll'. It doesn't come naturally for me.

Hannah, I seem to recall you preparing something with Brussels Sprouts recently...

RVs, I was just looking forward to trying something new last night. It wasn't the worst snafu to ever befall me, but I am recovering from being with my mother for two days straight, so my nerves are still frayed.

FF, mock if you will, but I had specifically written 'Risotto' on the back of an old receipt to ensure that, of the three dinner options offered, I would get the correct one. The likelihood of my receiving the Risotto was so good that it was not until over an hour later, when I was preparing to plate my presumably hot meal, that I opened the carryout container to experience the literally cold disappointment that was dinner.

Ingrid, unlike The Vegan Van, The Randy Radish isn't around daily. More like weekly, on average. The odds of my ever trying the Risotto are very slim.

Unknown, thanks so much for getting me into the Pickles and Hummus. I may start eating it daily once I get through all the other stuff I have to ingest first.

VGG, I know a lot of vegan Key Lime Pie recipes are made with Avocado, so you have to make sure to have perfectly ripe Avocados at the ready if you want to try making one. Not so simple.
