Tuesday, September 24th

Two juicy D'Anjou Pears for breakfast. Not mind blowing, but good...
Carryout lunch from Cafesano. An 'Avocado and Tomato Wrap' $7.39 Avocado mixed with Tomatoes, Romaine, Scallions and Kalamata Olives. Lavash Chips and Red Pepper Hummus on the side...
WF's Blackened Tofu and Roasted CSA Squash and Cherry Tomatoes for dinner...
A Jelly Donut from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut for dessert...
Hard to believe, but lunch was the highlight of this day of food. The Tofu at dinner was dried out, some of the Squash was bitter and the Jelly Donut was a little stale! Will I get back on my food roll tomorrow? I hope so!

Too bad about dinner & the donut, but that wrap looks really delicious. I love how much avocado is on it.

I wanted to comment on yesterday's post but my internet was moving too slow! And I refuse to backtrack. Bummer, it was probably gonna be something real insightful too.
Onward:
Pears are awesome. I'd rather have a good pear than a good peach.
No inside shot of the donut? Too bad it was stale, how long had that been in the magical Fridge of Eternal Life?

Thanks for the heads up about the cheesecake! I have so many things to post about but not enough time to write the posts.

That wrap looks delicious with all the avocado. Too bad the donut wasn't good.

Hopefully your good food roll will continue!

I have been craving fruit like a fiend lately so a fruity breakfast sounds so good to me right now. Too bad about the stale donut. It looks so damn pretty, too bad it wasn't great. That lunch though. If the olives didn't exist I would nose dive into that plate of food in an instant. Avocado and tomato is one of my favorite combos and lavash chips, yum!

Let's have a silent moment of appreciation for Cafesano. . . Serious applause for their hearty avocado inclusion. I find that most sandwiches with "avocado" means a smear or less.

I've had dried out tofu, so I feel your pain.

Crossing fingers for deliciousness!

I want a magical fridge of eternal life like Maud describes.

Pears are such a tricky fruit to get jjjuuuuusssstttt right. Love them with almond butter. That wrap looks chock full of fabulous! Lavash chips sound kind of exotic....
Ugh. Been there with the dried out 'fu from the hot bar. I wonder if older/larger squash have more bitter seeds the way that older cucumbers do? Kinda sucks either way.
I guess next time you will have to eat the donut the day you buy it!
Had a ginger mule from one of those cocktail bars tonight- they make their own ginger beer there! One was more than enough....
I'm a seriously cheap date :)

I just want to make it clear that when not stale, that's the best jelly donut of all time. And Maud, I've got an inside shot just for you scheduled for a MoFo finale! Not for nothin, but Vegan Treats last a long time. That magical Fridge of Eternal Life should have better guidelines..

Hey Now!!!

RVs, yes, the Kalamata Olives in the Wrap really make it great. I should get it more often, but the restaurant isn't so convenient.

FF, I thought there was something insightful to be learned about Mondays grub, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I'll never know. The Donut was bought on Saturday, so the fridge failed me.
FYI, it's only been about a month since I took an inside shot of the last Jelly Donut:

How quickly they forget.

VGG, is it too late to post on the Cheesecake? It sounds like it could be of value. Thanks, I'm getting back on the roll.

Sarah, dId you hook up with that cute waiter at the Mexican restaurant? No, I guess it's too soon for those kinds of cravings.

Ingrid, I always request 'no cheese' on the Cafesano Wraps and they've never failed me. Unlike CPK, and many other restaurants, the list goes on and on...

Hannah, wish I knew why/how our fridge keeps things so long? It could be that it came with the house and is some no-name brand (Gibson?!) from the 80's.

Unknown, just like the donut, I believe the bitter Squash was due to my not eating it last week when it first arrived. I didn't realize your signature Cocktail has a name. I've been seeing these mugs on Groupon for a while and never realized they were for something I'd be interested in. Do you drink it out of this type of vessel?

Abby Bean, this was my first time encountering anything less than greatness from Vegan Treats and I completely blame myself for not devouring the Donut on Saturday when I bought it.
