It was a gorgeous day to dine Al Fresco, so we went to Harpers Ferry for lunch at the Canal House. I started with the 'Eggplant Caponata' $7.50 Italian Relish with Garlic, Capers, Celery, Tomatoes, Onions and Olives served with Fresh Baked Focaccia.
My 'Mediterranean Salad Plate' $9.95 Hummus, Artichokes, Olives, Roasted Garlic, served with House-Baked Bread.
Rising Moon Spinach Florentine Ravioli for dinner....
Sweet & Natural Sweet Potato Cake for dessert.
As usual, the three-day weekend is speeding by faster than the usual two-day weekend.

That tofu scramble always looks so delicious. Luckily you had some yummy bread later in the day to make up for the stolen bread at breakfast! Yay for dining al fresco! Today was a beautiful day after a couple of gross freezing rainy days. Perfect day for a beautiful meal outside. Can't go wrong with a mediterranean meal. That sweet potato cake looks so good!!
Boo for long weekends speeding by! My regular two day weekend is speeding by too, wah!
The picture of Mr. SV grabbing your bread made me smile. Caught in the act!
You had a very colorful day, full of delicious looking food.
Never had sweet potato cake, but I'm guessing that I'd love it.
It sounds like you had a great day! LP knows how to do breakfast, but doesn't Mister know that you enjoy the bread with their wonderful jam?! Did we miss the photo of you batting his hand away? ;)
Lunch on a patio is always a favorite, second only to a Friday Happy Hour on a patio.
The eggplant thingy at lunch looks delicious! What an interesting assortment to dip in the hummus- havent seen artichoke hearts with it before. The sweet potato cake is a new one for me, was it good? Looks so much like carrot cake.
And do you really have a grill yet not use it?!?!

What a delicious day! I know! The three day weekends always flyyyy by! Happy Memorial Day!
I love caponata but it does NOT agree with my stomach. Nice choice though.
Mr SV caught in the wild. I like it.
Hey Now!!!
VaVa, you have to work on Memorial Day?! That sucks!
Molly, Mike would never grab food off your plate till all photography was completed.
Ingrid, Le Pain Quotidien always gives a slice of French Bread and a slice of Whole Wheat. No clue how that was decided. Anyway, Mr. SV gets the French Bread and I put about a cup of the 'free' Jam on the Whole Wheat piece. I need to document that process better.
Unknown, I didn't even think to dip the Artichokes in the Hummus, I just ate them straight up. Next time I'll dip the 'chokes like they're TJ's Meatless Meatballs. The Sweet Potato Cake was outstanding and tasted like Pumpkin Cake. We do have a gas grill sitting on our front porch that probably doesn't work anymore due to lack of use.
GFHTummy, I suspect every day is a holiday in your life. Unless you want to post something to convince me otherwise.
FF, if anyone had a cast-iron stomach, I would think it was you. Mr. SV cannot be tamed, but I won't give up trying.
Seeing as it was my birthday on the 26th, I'm saddened that you didn't eat anything with peanut butter in my honour.
