Saturday, March 24th

Kashi Cinnamon Harvest with Flaxseed Milk for breakfast. I first heard of Flaxseed Milk on Kimberly's blog and had been looking for it ever since. It was an exciting find...
A Groupon induced lunch at Il Fornaio Restaurant today. The Groupon was set to expire 3/31, so it was a relief not to see it go to waste. Their Minestrone $4.99 was a million times better than my homemade Vegetable Soup.
My Capellini al Pomodoro $9.99 was intensely flavorful with lots of Garlic and Tomato.
But it was the crusty and chewy Bread 'studded' with Green Olives that was the highlight of the meal. I ate enough for a small army, dipped in fruity Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinaigrette. Kudos to the Bread and Olive Oil Girl who was so in tune with my constant need for more Bread and Oil, yet also completely non-judgemental.
Back to earth: Field Roast Meatloaf with Heinz-57 and Steamed Broccoli for dinner.
No dessert due to the earlier massive bread consumption. Coming up tomorrow: Mr. SV says he's willing to go out to lunch again! He's so good to me.

I'm sure your soup was way better! I don't see any kale in there.
Love the little squiggle of balsamic in the oil.

That flax milk is intriguing for sure!

I agree, I bet your soup is way better. That pasta looks great and the sauce looks nice and fresh and delicious!

Can't wait to see where you end up for lunch tomorrow!

I always get so excited when I find stuff I see on other blogs. Now I'm going to be on the lookout for that milk, too.

Mike would love that bread and I don't blame you for feasting on it. :)

As it happens, I am out of almond or rice milk. I will make a strident effort to locate flaxseed milk. Another I've seen is hemp, have you tried it?

Well done on the Italian. I'm full just thinking about all that fantastic bread!

Hey Now!!!!

FF, nice of you to say, but unfortunately, Il Fornaio has a little somethin' somethin' for their soup that I don't have.

VaVa, ha! My soup is just a whisper compared to Il Fornaio's shout.

Molly, it is definitely cool to see those things you think will never come to your neck of the woods.

Ingrid, yes I've done Hemp Milk and Hemp Ice Cream. Both were great. What kind of milk will they think of next?

Alessandra, it was a delicious lunch to be sure. I must return.
