Tuesday, December 6th

Today was our office Holiday Brunch at the local Sheraton Hotel. I did great loading up on Vegetables and Potatoes, but the Pumpernickel Roll was a big dry impulsive mistake.
Gardein Stuffed Turk'y and the rest of the carryout Mac & Cheese from Everlasting Life Cafe for dinner.(Mr. SV revealed he'd be willing to venture back downtown to go to Everlasting Life Cafe again in our lifetimes!)
Half a slice of Chocolate Hazelnut Cake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut for dessert. Devils Food Cake and Sugary White Icing are what dreams are made of.
It was the Pumpernickel Roll that did me in today. Poor judgement. Live & learn.

Looks like you got a pretty nice selection for a holiday brunch! Though of course if you had a "work holiday brunch from home," I'm sure you'd do better. No rolls either.

I had to click on that link to see what would get Mr Shen to be so cooperative. The website describes the place as a "gourmet dining retreat that relaxes and rejuvenates beyond belief." Beyond belief, no kidding!!!

If I roll was your only mistake today, I'd call that a good day! That cake had to have made up for it. It looks great!

Is Mr. SV vegan, too?

Our holiday party will be at a mexican restaurant. So that means I'll only be having tequila shots and chips and salsa.

Looking forward to the next Everlasting Life Cafe visit!

Nice holiday brunch meal! I would have made the same mistake with the roll because I'm such a fan of pumpernickel. Your dinner sounds AMAZING! You know how much I love that stuffed gardein goodness and that mac and cheese looks so delicious. That cake too, yum! Very jealous of your day :) PS. My office "holiday" party typically happens around end of January/beginning of February. That's how we roll!

PPS to Ingrid, what else do you need other than tequila and chips and salsa?! ;)

Good to see that there was some animal-free food at the holiday brunch!! I've been to so many company events where anything that doesn't involve meat, automatically contains cheese-sheesh!

Everlasting Life definitely seems like a must do again! I like the combo of the Mac n cheeze with the Field Roast.

It's fortunate that you were able to eat well at a holiday work brunch. I'm impressed with your 1500 calorie commitment. I'm really not looking forward to pregnancy ending and having to think about losing weight again.

Hey Now!!!!

FF, I surely should've WTF'ed. Went to the brunch just cuz they usually have Hummus but no more.

Stacy, methinks Mr. SV just wants to return to the restaurant because we happened to drive by a man & woman literally fighting each other near the restaurant. He's really into boxing.

Molly, Mr. SV is not vegan, but he does appreciate good grub. Which most vegan food is.

Ingrid, we all know how teachers love to party.

VaVa, do you all take photos of yourselves at your holiday party?

Rose, agreed about the company parties. They're usually pretty depressing food wise.

Jenny, you don't have much time left to post about your pregnancy. Sure wish you'd share more details.
