I took the day off work, so lunch was made at home -- a combination of these two recipes. I subbed TVP for the meat and added a dollop of Sour Supreme.
About a month ago, we adopted three Guinea 'Keets'. Since I was around all day, I let them outside for the first time today. They've been 'homed' to our barn and they're supposedly going to help reduce the tick population. Ticks and Lyme Disease are horribly prevalent here and Guineas are the all-natural solution.
I practiced making Mojitos again. They're starting to get better but the Mint to Lime ratio still isn't quite right.
Dinner was Boca Burgers and Tater Tots.
If only every day was as pleasant as today.

I'm speechless. THose guinea hens are *awesome* and the pic of your dog sniffing your drink is fabulous. Keep up the good work!
PS and thanks for your comments on my rather pathetic blog!
Your dog is so incredibly cute!
Also, I had the hugest craving for enchiladas earlier and your first pic is definitely re-triggering it...and I just ate dinner. Haha.
Yum!
Oh I love your Guinea Keets! How sweet that you adopted them! That always makes me happy to hear. I have wanted to adopt a turkey for a while now. I feel like if I adopt a turkey, then my husband will not eat turkey anymore. My plan is to one day have enough land to have AT LEAST a pig, cow, turkey, chicken, and possibly a horse...among other animals I feel I need ;) Glad to hear your mojitos are getting better.
Love the newest members of your family! They are beautiful! Thanks for showing us.
Hello, Ladies! Thanks for the nice comments on our Guineas. I am going to try to get better pics of them, but they're camera shy like their mom;-)
that looks so good!(your concoction with chips)
those little birds...(well they are the same size as chickens i think?) are so funny and adorable! i hate ticks!when we first moved o NJ we would play outside, then the neighbors would be like"you let them play in the woods like that?" my parents were all "yea thats the big reason we bought this property" *shudders* i was trying to sleep one night and ran my hand up my arm...and felt one...i hope your new friends destroy them. each and every bloodsucking one.
love the art deco condiments, you are so creative:)
thanks for sharing the two recipe mix, it takes a lot for tvp to take on flavor sometimes.
m
oh and thats so great that you adopted the birdies!!
Hey, Michelle! I should clarify -- there are a lot of Guineas for sale on Craigslist. I bought these for $8/each about a month ago. I guess 'adoption' is the wrong word? I dunno. They certainly live here now. Anyways, what's up w/the DONKEY?!
Yummers! Can't go wrong with nachos - even frito ones! Where's the olives??
Blessed Mama, I love Olives as much as you do, unfortunately, Mr. SV only likes the green ones;-(
the mojito looks great! i have been thinking that i need to pick up some mint and start using it in my cooking/drinks...anything really.
You WILL be sharing the mojito recipe when it is perfect, right?
