Sunday, October 20th

Given free choice of where to have breakfast this morning, Mr. SVegetarian chose Harrimans Grill. His choice surprised me, not only because he's a Tavern 64 man, but service yesterday was not something I felt like enduring again anytime soon. He made a great choice because this morning service was quite adept. We both savored the 'Tofu Scramble' $12 Vine-Ripened Tomatoes, Green Onions, Tempeh Bacon (Sausage?) and Roasted Potatoes....
I got a side of WW Toast $3 to enjoy the tiny jelly, although, I guess I could just eat the jelly straight out of the jar duh! next time...
Boca Burgers with TJ's Vegetarian Chili and Roasted Acorn Squash for dinner...
The Chocolate Croissants from yesterdays breakfast for dessert. They were more like Chocolate Rolls with some Dark Chocolate in the middle. Good, but nothing like an actual Chocolate Croissant.
Because I couldn't get any in-focus pics of the barn cats, here are some cheerful backyard birds to help transition us out of the weekend...a Tuffy...
and a Chickadee chowing down on food this afternoon...
WFH grub tomorrow.

How sweet are those birds?! Great photos!

It looks like another great meal at Harriman's. I'm glad the service turned out well!

So, not as flakey as a croissant? They still sound divine!

Or you could just steal the jelly jar?

Love the encore meal! If it isn't broken......;)
The chili boca burger combo is totally inspired- acorn squash has always been a favorite, more because it reminds me of my dad (he loves it) than anything, and there is always a lot of earth balance involved.
Those so called coissants didn't look so small yesterday- they're like coissant babies. Did you have them hot?
Love the bird pics! They're so cute! Not much wildlife i want pictures of around here....

Sweet little boids! I watched three playing/hiding/mating in the ivy on the back wall of a building in my yard today.
Do servers ever recognize you at restaurants you frequent? I guess today was different people from yesterday, but maybe at other places?
Sad about the croissants. You got my hopes up for flaky.

Great pics of the happy little birdies!! Love these!!

Glad you enjoyed better service yesterday and the meal looks just as enticing! Love the jelly blobs :) The acorn squash looks delicious too! Great looking dinner.

I don't know how I feel about the chocolate croissants! They look good but it's sad that they weren't as great as expected. Eh, I still bet they were delicious, even if not authentic and croissanty (yup made that word up).

Hey Now!!!

Ingrid, there appeared to be an attempt at flakiness, but it wasn't achieved by my standards.

Hannah, are you sitting on my shoulder, wearing little horns and holding a pitchfork;-)

Unknown, the Acorn Squash did turn out better than it appeared in the pic. Yes, the Croissants are semi-miniature. Heating them would've probably would have helped a lot. Wish you had suggested that earlier.

FF, Mr. SV & I are known at Loving Hut and the Randy Radish gals know Mr. SV cuz he always picks up our order. We did see Saturday's waitress, but avoided eye contact. I hear 'Croissant', I also think 'Flaky'. But apparently we're alone in that thought.

Sarah, perhaps Vegan Chocolate Croissants are just too good to be true as of now.

Those croissants look disappointingly dense. Flakiness is so key. Scramble looks excellent again, though. Not sure how publicized this information is, but Sheila Johnson is allegedly following a vegan diet now! Happy to reap gains from her decision and try out Harriman's for myself some day.
