WTF Tuesday

Pepperjack Daiya Cheese Pizzas (on Ezekiel English Muffins) for lunch. Yes, I burnt the roof of my mouth after over baking them. It's de rigueur after forcing vegan cheese to melt.
Field Roast Classic Meatloaf and Roasted Cauliflower for dinner.
I've seriously been straying from this being a 'food only' blog as was my mission statement. Working towards returning to that format. On the too many words front:
Work Stress update: The missed deadline was because I was waiting on legitimate test data. Yesterday afternoon, I realized I didn't need to wait on legitimate data for this particular project. Illegitimate data would have been okay to work with for the past few weeks. Cue unpleasant physical reaction/vomiting personal details to internet. Last night, while I slept, the legitimate test data showed up. This morning, I hastily pushed the project to where it should be and no one was the wiser that it could have gone weeks ago. Phew! WTF Tuesday is safe.
Dessert was Double Chocolate Fudge Cake and Rice Dream Butter Pecan.
Bathroom Cats update: I had signed up MaMa Cat for the Spay Today deal ($64 for Spay & Rabies, plus $20 for Leuk/FIV/Heartworm Test). This morning I dropped her off at Brigg's Animal Adoption Center at 7am . Every other Tuesday, the Center trucks the Dogs & Cats down to Harrisonburg, Virginia for their surgeries. So many people doing the right thing before sunrise. Who knew?
I'll pick her up at Brigg's tomorrow morning and move her into the barn for good. MaMa Cat's legal name: "Marmalade Umlaut". The three kittens have to get a little bit bigger before they can be fixed. The most majorly shy Little Thing:
2nd Most Shy Thing (already seemingly resigned to the demands of being a long-haired white feline):
Bold and brave in the face of litter box cleanings, food & water refreshments and bright flashes. Can't wait to find out if this is a boy or a girl:
Coming up tomorrow: Food and nothing but the food. I'll leave the dramz to the professionals.

In regards to food - I gave up on Daiya melting a long time ago. I won't repeat my sentiments about butter pecan, as we all know that it won't last long in this house.

In regards to sharing - I don't find your details too revealing. Perhaps it's more like a miniature insight into the world of Shen.

In regards to the felines - Mama's permanent home in the barn?! Does this mean kittens will stay there as well?!

I like you posting about food along with other stuff! No complaints from me, but you have to do what feels comfortable.

You rock for taking care of mama kitty like that, and such a perfect name! Maud will be thrilled, I'm sure. :)

I'm really, really, really glad to hear that all is well with the deadline. Phew!

Great idea for mini pizzas. We were eyeing up pepperjack Daiya at WF's this weekend (our co-op only has the other two flavors), but decided against it. Now I kind of wish we would have gotten it.....

Mike is sad that the co-op appears to have discontinued the meatloaf. He'll have to settle with ordering it at the Comet Cafe on occasion.

Whew! Glad everything worked out on the work front.
Adorable kitties, what else can I say, other than taking animals to the vet is The. Worst. Even though you know it's for their own good.

Ooh lots to comment on. First, I'm glad that everything worked out for you and the deadline, though I'm sorry it caused you so much stress!

For the food, I think the pizza's look really good! Daiya can be fickle but I have had pretty good luck melting it. You know I love some roasted cauliflower too :)

Love Mama cat's name! I agree, Maud will be thrilled :) They are all beautiful kitties and you are definitely awesome for taking them all in. They'll be in good hands for sure.

And finally, I like learning about you. I know you are private but the personal details here and there are nice :)

Oh, what cute little fuzzies you have there! What darlings! You are awesome!! Mama kitty is going to be so much better off spayed and in your barn! Great name choice too! :D I love the little black shy one...so cute. If I were in Virginia, I'd be on the waiting list for him/her. But as it is, I think I've reached our kitty limit for the moment.

The pizza doesn't look burnt to me, but does look gorgeously tasty, as does dinner.

Glad WTF Tuesday is safe! Ah, test data, schmata...legitimate? I used to work with a software engineering team, both QA and dev, so maybe I kind of know what you mean. Glad it all panned out!

Oh my!!! Those kittens are too sweet! Adorable! I love the name marmalade too.
I can not tell you how many times I have burnt my mouth doing that exact same thing! Its awful, the skin peels off the roof of my mouth after. And every time I think, why did I just do that again? I never seem to learn my lesson. I do it with hot soups, and everything else too. :/
I love reading about the food AND the other stuff! I enjoy them both!!! Dont totally give up on posting about other things!
Also, if your wondering why my blog links are missing off the side of my bog, its just temporary. I didn't get rid of all the people I love! My blog is undergoing a refresher with a new look and some new features, so its kind of "under construction". Just wanted to let you know. :)

Aww, you can call Mama Cat Uma for short (I just watched the Avengers, don't ask why.)
I want the shy bitty black one. But I want all good things to happen to each one.
And I find most good deeds happen before sun up. Or at least, before noon.

Phew, I'm so glad that everything worked out with the joby job! Now you can destress!

Your pizzas look so good. The cheese not melting is the only thing I don't like about Daiya.

YAY for getting momma cat, or shall I say "Marmalade Umlaut" spayed. Are you going to keep the kittens too? The majorly shy Little Thing is soooo cute. They all are, but she's my pick. Maybe it's because she the most shy. :o) I say keep em all! Did your dogs ever discover them?

Wow, so much to comment on - I hope I remember it all.

First off, cheese? I thought you'd never do vegan cheese. Oh, wait, you had it on your WF seitan sands, right. But, it was on pizza that you swore it off, right? Sometin' like that.

Work update - hopefully no one reads your blog at work!

Kitties - awwwww.

General updates - see, this is what happens when you just can't resist the sweet, loving pull of not-so-strangers-anymore.

Hey Now!!!!

Ingrid, 'melt' isn't quite the right word. Someone needs to invent a new word for what heated vegan cheese does. Yes, the entire Kitty Family will reside in the barn. Don't worry, it's a nice secure barn with electricity, windows, hiding places...

Molly, I'm the opposite of you, I just want to post on food and you just want to post on everything else. Is the Co-Op the only place you can find Field Roast?

Stacy, going to the vet is so horrible. If they didn't make people wait around so long, people would probably be more apt to take their babies in.

VaVa, I was too lazy to add SunDried Tomatoes to the Cauliflower. One of these days.

Rose, that's me --> Dev. I was supposed to get the project to QA. It's there now. Ball's out of my court.

Morgan, I couldn't find any mouth burning remedies on the web. Really was a bummer. I'll bet your new blog design will blow us away;-)

FF, 'most good deeds happen before sun-up'? When you're working the docks I suppose. Spoken like a true Teamster.

Michelle2, the Dogs have been completely ignoring the mayhem going on in the bathroom. Strange. Probably if the Pups could see the Kittens, they'd try chasing them.

Blessed Mama, great memory: I'd totally written off any cheesy hopes for the future. A recent vegan meal in a restaurant made me decide to give the Daiya another chance. It is funny how the lure of baring all on the internet is so strong. Would make for an interesting scientific study.
