Sunday, November 20th

Still on the Daiya/Tostada kick and loving every minute. Store bought Corn Tortillas are the bomb, BTW. As is bagged Shredded Lettuce.
Field Roast Classic Meatloaf, Roasted Brussel Sprouts and a Baked Sweet Potato for dinner.
Blueberry Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut for dessert.
Bathroom Cats Update: Gorgeous and thriving. Shy One let me stroke her/him for a good long time today. Got some purrrring going.
The Imp has been rubbing up against me and biting my feet! Never thought that would happen.
The Ethereal One is loosening up as well. Always extremely dainty. I've turned them each over this way and that and they all still look like girls to me.
Their Mother, Marmalade Umlaut, is recuperating from her spaying earlier in the week. They must have doped her up real good as she has decided to just stay hunkered down in her litter box and not move. Pics taken earlier today did not turn out well. I'll keep trying. What a stressful few months she has had: Homelessness, Childbirth, Kidnapping, Forced Hysterectomy, More Confinement (in a very weird place). Gotta cut her some slack if she's not feeling up to snuff these days.

I'm now feeling the need to make tostadas (I ain't taking the bait here WRT store-bought vs homemade tortillas). Iceberg lettuce has been unfairly maligned, IMHO--sometimes its simple crispness is just what the doctor ordered.

PS those are some adorable kitties. Do you have to find them homes?

Your meals looks amazing and I'm with Stacy, I'm totally feeling like making tostadas now! That cheesecake looks amazing too! And the kitties are really beautiful. It is nice that they are getting comfortable and becoming more affectionate :) A very pretty bunch you have there, especially added to the gorgeous crew you already had!

Ha, ha! Yes, poor mama - life has been difficult, but at least she and her love muffins are clean, warm and fed. I'm glad they won't be moving too far away!

Boy, I sure sounded cranky or judgmental in my last comment to you. What was up with that? Anyhow, love your food, love the color or lack of it. And the kitties are flourishing under your care! They are too cute. Are you going to keep them you think?

Those tostadas do look the bomb. You've reminded me how good iceberg lettuce is with that sort of thing...nice and crunchy and sweet.

Poor Mama kitty, she has been through a lot! But, she'll be better off in the long run, she just doesn't know it yet. The little ones sound like they're coming out of their shell nicely...soooo cute! I'm glad you live so far away, lest I be tempted to adopt one.

Aw, what great kitty pics! They're all so adorable and I'm glad to hear they're doing well. Mama cat has been through a lot, poor sweetie, but thank goodness you came along for her.

Tostadas just might be going on our meal list next week. Those are starting to loudly call my name!

Glad to hear the cats are doing well! Aw, I remember little kitten days of ankle biting. I love the "Shy One" with her arms folded in front of her, ha. With nicknames like that you should start a band. Mama Cat will cope with managing and costuming.

Tostada's are so addicting!

Those babies are so so cute! I bet deep down Momma knows how lucky she is. I'm glad they are all doing well and becoming more affectionate.

Hey Now!!!!

Stacy, heee! What bait? Just sayin' how nice it is to have a lovely batch of pre-made Tortillas when needed;-) In the immortable words of Madonna: I'm keepin' my Babies.

VaVa, they are seriously a gorgeous little family. So glad they're learning to trust me...

Ingrid, it's helpful to be reminded that I'm doing the right thing by having them fixed and forever confined. Gotta admit to entertaining the idea of letting Marmalade Umlaut go free. She seems so unhappy in the barn.

Blessed Mama, a lot of my food days are beige & brown and this blog tells it like it is. It's a free-for-all so everyone can let it all hang out. And that too. I'm keepin' my Babies. They wont be Babies for long though. Just hope I live 20 more years to take care of them.

Rose, you did great with Molly. She found her perfect loving family. Wish all adoptions/fosterings could work out so well.

Kimberly, I must admit to semi-exploiting the Kittens to make up for the dismal food pics. Gonna be tough when they're grown and I have to find other interesting content.

Molly, the Tostadas have been so delectable. Really hitting the spot. No fail.

FF, 'The Shy Ones' would be a cool name for a band. Marmalade Umlaut needs a project (a really big project) to take her mind off recent events.

Michelle2, I wish I could agree with you on the Mama, but gratitude does not appear to be part of her DNA. If I were Japan, she would be Godzilla and she would be stomping all over me.
