Thursday, November 10th

A Burrito Bowl (with Brown Rice! My first time seeing this locally) from Chipotle for lunch.
Sloppy Joes on Ezekiel Sesame Buns with Tater Tots and Fry Sauce for dinner. The Buns are way too heavy for Sloppy Joes. Totally weighed me down. No room for dessert.
An unnecessarily annoying post on one of our local news sites. Of course, no comments allowed.

That article is really ridiculous! Well actually, how did they know I eat ice cream for breakfast, cookies for snack, cupcakes for lunch, and fritos with a side of fries for dinner. They caught me! Ugh anyway, your burrito bowl looks amazing, can't wait to add rice back on Tuesday so I can eat one!

Alright, now I'm miffed. I was just talking about articles like this with my one vegan co-worker. It's so annoying. Veganism does not = sainthood of food intake. Geez!

Example A: today, I ate half of an Alternative Baking Company Pumpkin Spice cookie at lunch. It was awesome.

P.S. Checked out the pumpkin cheesecake link, looks relatively easy and yummy! But don't mention it to channel 7; instead tell them we'll be eating sprouts.

I dunno....that link doesn't seem all that different from the list on Peta's website of foods that are "accidentally vegan" or something like that (I forget what it's called).

Good food day. I sure miss Chipotle.

That's a lot of sesame seeds on those buns! I'm glad Chipotle got brown rice. Hopefully when we finally get to eat at one (someday!), the one we eat at will have it, too.

That article is really stupid. Out of all the things they could write about with veganism, they pick that? I can just imagine how some people are going to fly with that to bash veganism. Ugh.

I'll have to check out that news post in a sec, but first, I was going to say that we always eat our sloppy joes open-faced. (To ask a similar question that you asked me: is one of you named joe?)

I totally don't get the point of that article. On the one hand...yeah we all know that cookies, fries, and cracker jacks are not exactly health foods, but so what? And vegan versions of cookies, cakes and ice cream are far less toxic than eating non-vegan versions with dairy.

Or, are they trying to say that vegans don't just eat kale and brown rice...we get treats too?

Anyway, mainstream news media is just one thing: Stupid.

You've reminded me that it's been far too long since I've had sloppy joe's...those look tasty!

I almost suggested to Tony that we go to Chipotle when we went to WF's last Friday, but decided PF Chang's needed to be first.

Are cracker jacks vegan? I used to LOVE those! I do agree...that was a very unnecessary article! I wish the news would just mind their own business! I never said that I don't eat junk food...ugh

Hey Now!!!!

VaVa, if only the article allowed comments. Your's would be very appropriate. Thanks for alerting me to the Brown Rice at Chipotle. It was so great to see it.

Ingrid, didn't know there was such a thing as Alternative Baking Company Pumpkin Spice Cookies! I must find some!

Stacy, yes, the laziness factor plays into the article as well. It's almost as if I wrote it (but I didn't).

Molly, you don't have Chipotle either? Anyway, the article was total vegan-baiting.

Blessed Mama, I plan to eat the Sloppy Joe leftovers open-faced. No 'Joes' here either, just two big slobs.

Rose, no sh*t. I was too frustrated from the article to articulate why.

Michelle2, yes, Cracker Jacks are vegan. Cool, huh? You made the right choice of PF Changs over Chipotle. Now you just have to try the MaPo Tofu and Veggie Lettuce Wraps.
