Saturday, November 26th

Oatmeal at Mom's for breakfast. $1.95. Mr. SV suggested I use the Raisins to make a Snoopy face on my hot cereal. Andy Cohen recently drew Snoopy on TV. Mr. SV insists that he too can draw Snoopy, but he really can't.
Lunch was at Everlasting Life Cafe:
When I saw all the hot:
& cold vegan food on display, I got over excited and couldn't think straight.
My 'Rising Sun Smoothie' made with a blend of Tahini, Blackstrap Molasses, Spirulina, Brewer's Yeast and Sweetener $6.60. Awesome.
The Fried Chicken tasted so realistic, it was scary. Don't know how they do it.
Major secret recipe action going on.
Dinner was another carryout entree from the restaurant: Manicotti.
Reheated at home. An astonishing achievement!
I stocked up on a couple side dishes and desserts for the coming week.

WOW! First of all, the raisin snoopy is pretty awesome :) All of the dishes on the hot and cold bars look amazing! I totally can understand how you'd be overwhelmed by it! You definitely made great choices though, the fried chicken looks great, as does the manicotti. Can't wait to see what other goodies you brought home!

HaHA! Aww, I can kind of pick out a Snoopy shape..
The smoothie sounds so great! I've got to recreate that. The chicken does look very bona fide too. Nice job.

Holy balls, that fake fried chicken looks unbelievably good.
I have to say that the name of this blog really belies the amazing vegan options you have at hand. I would've thought you'd be rubbing together some coal chips to make a fire to fry some acorns up, but no! You are so lucky!!!

Oh shoottt! Awesome day for food in Shen's world over here!
There needs to be more vegan food restaurants over here in Washington.

From an artistic standpoint, your Snoopy rocks.

Another D.C. restaurant to add to the list for my next visit! I looked over their menu, and so much looks amazing. Can't wait to see what else you picked up! Do you have a favorite so far?

That buffet looks very yummy. Sometimes buffets kind of gross me out but that one looks quite appealing. Just about anything deep-fried sounds tasty, and that "chicken" looks as if it would not disappoint. I hope you're having a nice Thanksgiving weekend. what's left of it anyway.

Question: you mentioned that you are not Christian. Do you celebrate a secular Christmas (as I do, although I like to think I'm celebrating the Solstice)? Or do you celebrate Chanukah? Something else? Nothing else? If you don't want to discuss this aspect of your life, that's OK. I hope you don't mind my asking.

Hey Now!!!!

VaVa, thanks! And the pics don't even show all the vegan offerings.

FF, what do you mean 'kind of 'pick out a Snoopy shape? It's totally Snoopy on my Oatmeal!

Stacy, agreed on the blog naming part. I'm trying to keep it low key, but also gain fame & fortune. Where to draw the line? ( I've tried nibbling on Acorns and they were no good).

Isotope, what is with the folks in Washington dissing on their grub?! Seattle is supposed to be one of the top food cities in the world. I'm still not buying it ain't incredible, no matter what you & Rose say.

Ingrid, at least get to the Falls Church Loving Hut on your next visit. Then you can move on to bigger and better things.

Miss Rachel, as always, the religion thing is more complicated than it should be. Were I not so lazy, my preferred religion would be Wiccan.

Snoopy rocks! :o)

Everlasting Life Cafe looks like the place to be. I wouldn't be able to think straight with all that vegan goodness either.

I wouldn't be able to think straight either with all of the choices. And I would be freaked out by the chicken and make my husband test it out first and swear to me it couldn't be meat, like I always make him do.
