Saturday, November 19th

Oatmeal at Mom's for breakfast. $1.95. I asked if they had any Almond Butter or Pomegranate Arils to spice up the Oatmeal, but they said it wasn't happening.

Hard Times Chili (made from their mix) on Spaghetti at home for lunch.
Field Roast Classic Meatloaf, Stuffing and Roasted Cauliflower for dinner.
26 Carob Covered Raisins rolling around on a plate for dessert.
I'll try to shoot more for the rainbow eats tomorrow.

Yum, oatmeal! You should totally pocket some toppings for it next time and be one of "those" people that brings your own stuff to a restaurant :) Nice return of the carob covered raisins. I LOVE stuffing and I'm totally going to miss it this year so I'm going to live vicariously through you. I roasted a big batch of brussels sprouts and some cauliflower today so yours is inspiring me eat it sooner rather than later.

I think it's funny that you count your carob raisins. But I don't have much to laugh about really, because I count my almonds before I eat them.

My job requires me to do a lot of counting. I think it's affecting the rest of my life. I counted how many leaves of spinach were in my salad today. Every, single, piece.

I just want to know, did the organic stuffing taste anything like Stovetop? It's weird--I did not have a happy childhood, but occasionally I want foods from it. Go figure.

Who puts oatmeal on a menu, and doesn't provide any goodies?! Chili on spaghetti. . .makes sense, just haven't ever thought of the two together.

WF stores here only offer the Tofurky roast option most of the time. I did see a Gardein individual mini "roast" after I had already purchased the other! I'm guessing if I ever did get my hands on a Field Roast option, it would be better?!

Dinner looks great; prepping for the big day?
I second VAVA's suggestion..I'd love to see someone pull a box of pom arils out of their purse and place exactly 26 of them in a smiley face in the oatmeal. Or, in your case, a frowny face.

The phrase "rolling around on a plate for dessert" makes me giggle for some reason. I don't necessarily count things like that, but I do measure them - like a quarter cup of almonds for instance. Some people thinks it's weird that I do that, but I know how easy it is to go overboard eating that kind of thing if you don't measure out a serving.

That chili looks exceptionally good to me right now. We don't have any Hard Times Cafes (that I know about) up here in New England.

My sweetie and I bought a Field Roast Celebration Roast for our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. I've been very impressed with the Field Roast stuff I've had so far so I'm excited to try this.

Have a great week!

That is a very beige day. Okay, you finally show us a breakfast shot, and it's of oatmeal? For about two bucks? When a tub of it costs about that much? I know, you just had to get away from all the animal parenting for a while, yes? My wallet has sympathy pains.

I agree with Ingrid...what gives with the oatmeal? Oatmeal is one of those things that definitely needs the extras. Everything else looks yumbles! Though the raisins rolling on the plate sounds precarious.

Hey Now!!!!!

VaVa, I thought about bringing a little baggie of Raisins for my Oatmeal, but it was okay that I didn't. It was really awesome Au Naturel. FYI, I've seen Gluten Free Stuffing Mix in Wegmans.

Isotope, just as long as you dont ever miscount, you should be okay.

Stacy, the organic stuffing was not that good. Dry and crumbly. I've never had Stovetop. So far, the best mix I've found is Pepperidge Farm which is easily veganized. At least you had good Stuffing in your childhood! I can't say the same.

Ingrid, most non-cosmopolitan cities do still prepare and serve regular old Oatmeal. It brings to mind a gentler time.

FF, I'll be prepared for next time I order Oatmeal in a restaurant, but seriously: Unadorned Oats are pretty darn good. Simple!

Miss Rachel, I have a Field Roast Celebration Roast in the fridge as well (the kind in puff pastry). Great stuff.

Blessed Mama, funny, I thought $1.95 was pretty cheap for Oatmeal. I felt guilty not ordering something more expensive off the menu. Beige/Brown days happen.

Rose, I think this 'Oatmeal Extra' thing is a recent phenomenon. I'll bet if a poll was conducted, most people would eat their Oatmeal 'as is'. Seriously.
