Monday, November 21st

Lunch was carryout from Granada Cafe. Starting with a super delicious Lentil Soup and a perfectly puffy ball of fresh baked Pita Bread (drink was from the organic market next door)...
The other stuff -- Rice & Peas, Steamed Veggies and an Iceberg Lettuce Side Salad was just so-so. $8.95. Worth it for the Soup & Bread alone. Pretty cool how I now have my desk at work set up so my lunch pics look like interrogation photos.
Field Roast Classic Meatloaf, Stuffing and Steamed Broccoli for dinner. Next in my rotation: Pastry Wrapped Celebration Roast, aka, 'The Good Stuff'.
Soy Delicious Mint Marble Fudge with an Uncle Eddie's PB Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert. Minty foods have been overwhelmingly minty lately. Not sure what that's about. Perhaps my palate has become too refined.
Coming up: For the first time in my entire life (not exaggerating), I get to do what I want on Thanksgiving. What will it be????

That soup and pita bread look AMAZING!. THe rice and peas look good too! Oooh more of that stuffing, training for Thanksgiving? As usual dessert looks yummy! I haven't eaten a lot of mint this holiday season but I just started a stockpile of Candy Cane Joe Joes that I'm telling myself I'm going to use for baking. Can't wait to see what you do for Thanksgiving!

That pita does look great! Was it still warm? Were you just dying to tear into it and make it deflate?
I, for one, am dying to hear about your Thanksgiving. My siblings are both elsewhere this year and I'm not looking forward to deal with the family alone.

Wow, that pita is so puffy! Puffier than I've ever seen. It all looks good...seems like you've been having Thanksgiving for the past few days, so it'll be fun to see what you get up to on the actual day.

I am such a sucker for freshly baked bread. When you interrogated lunch, did it taste better?

Hold your breathe - I might be going to Watercourse on Wednesday. If it happens, there will be photos.

I hope you made your lunch sing like a canary....(in reference to your interrogation comment, heh).

Wow, Thanksgiving is your vegan oyster! I'm with Rose" it'll be great to see what ensues.

I've never seen pita bread that puffy. Looks like everyone else is amazed by it too. I know it had to be delicious. :o)

Can't wait to see what you do for Thanksgiving. I wish I could do what ever, so I could eat all the things that I wanted.

Hey Now!!!!!

VaVa, how will you use the Joe Joes for baking? Crumbled on Cupcakes?

FF, yeah, it was a warm inflated pillow of bread. And to think I almost declined it. Glad I said 'Okay, I'll take some bread' at the last moment. It didn't actually 'deflate' though, sort of stayed the same shape when I pulled pieces off of it. So you and G are just gonna go to your parent's house like normal people? One minute you're with Robyn Hitchcock and the next minute, you're with your parents?

Rose, I'm learning to appreciate T'giving food even though I have only negative issues associated with the 'holiday'. No clue how they made the inflated ball of Pita Bread but it was very well executed.

Ingrid, it's your Denver Duty to go to Watercourse. We'll all try to pretend we don't know that you've never gone.

Stacy, is Canada like 30 years behind the times? "Sing like a Canary"? Guess you've all already had your Thanksgiving up there (which is not nearly as heinous as the American T'giving honoring the genocide of native people and slaughter of indigenous birds).

Michelle2, my first Thanksgiving as a free adult should be interesting. I'll let everyone know how it goes. And by 'everyone' I mean six to ten cyberbuds.

I'm definitely going to use them to make (the easiest) truffles. I'll probably make a batch of bark with them because my friend special requested it. And from there it'll probably be just a hoarding situation ;)

Canada is 30 years behind the times, but considering the times we live in, can't say that I mind, actually. I myself am probably 50 years behind the times.

I'm sure I'll have to spend Thanksgiving again, at some point, with other people, but we've really enjoyed the past several years just doing it by ourselves (and sometimes away on trips). I got tired of trying to travel far with one or two things, that was all we had to eat, and consoling whiny children about all of the foods we couldn't eat.
