WTF Thursday

Because I'm constantly thinking of my next meal, I picked up a Quiche from The Randy Radish yesterday and reheated a slice for breakfast this morning...
Lunch was the CSA Lettuce Head with Tomatoes, Cucumber, Croutons and Goddess Dressing...
Soup made with CSA Kale & Garlic (as well as Potatoes and Chickpeas) for dinner...
The other half of my Sweet & Natural Sweet Potato Cake for dessert.
The below picture is entitled Keeping Up With The Rambling Vegans. Although, we have vinyl siding and not brick, we, too, were deemed worthy of having a porch light fit for raising a family on. Just gotta make sure we don't accidentally turn that light on over the next month or so.
More WFH grub tomorrow. Hopefully, with more Quiche.

Wow! You've been eating such yummy food lately!! The quiche looks really great. What kind is it? I'm a sucker for broccoli quiche but haven't found a great vegan version of it yet. It's always so dense. Your salad is really vibrant and beautiful. The soup sounds really great too! What kind of broth is that? It has such a rich color. Any chance you'll post a recipe? ;)

Hahaha keeping up with the Rambling Vegans, that's awesome. Very cool that you have some cute little guys nesting too! Your crew continues to grow :)

Love everything about this day! Their quiche looks spectacular, you've had a lot of luck with the Randy Radish. Fresh lettuce is the best, so I bet your salad tasted great. Is it a soup you just threw together or is it a recipe? It looks so good!

Hooray for baby birds! I hope you get to snap a picture when the happy family returns.

So cool that you have a bird's nest on your front porch light, too. ha! Do you know what kind of bird? We think ours is a robin but she hasn't laid any eggs yet. Oh, and we do have mostly vinyl siding. There's just brick on part of our front. :)

I would love to easily be able to pick up a quiche. It looks delicious! I've only had quiche once, a vegan kind at Riverwest, and adored it.

Oooh, vegan quiche (that doesn't suck) is hard to come by! What a veggie-licious day you had- the soup looks so good. Did you have some crusty bread to dunk??
I agree that there is something irritating about the "vegan before 6" idea/book etc- however, i support any and all methods that increase the number of vegan meals eaten every day and overlook the flaws.....

What kinda birds nested there? Definitely keep us up to date on those guys.
Gorgeous soup AND salad. Not bad on the quiche either. I like the little crust decoration on top.

Hey Now!!!!

VaVa & Ingrid, the soup is just just a thrown together thing that happened to come out really well. The base is a big can of Crushed Marzano Tomatoes plus a lot of Chili Powder and Oregano. No broth, just water. No clue what kind of quiche it was, there were some shredded Carrots in it.

Rambling Vegans, we're guessing it is a Wren's nest, but haven't seen anyone to confirm that. Funny how different our nest is from yours.

Unknown, I can't believe you asked if I had bread to dunk in the soup. I was planning to make Crescent Rolls and completely forgot till it was too late. So bummed. Yes, I'm trying to think that way about Bittman's book/idea, I really am.

FF, I have no clue what kind of birds built the nest. Mr. SV speculates that they are Wrens. I'll definitely be watching for any activity.

Hannah, I have seriously been batting a thousand lately with the food.

GFHTummy, thanks! it is like Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom down here.

Mary, we get wasps starting nests on our porch as well. Just gotta go out when it is chilly early in the morning, knock the wasp nest down with a stick and quickly run inside.
